The radar function is one of the best out there (especially the severe weather warnings overlays), but the ads make the app borderline unusable. Notified after storm has already passed. Always having issues loading and glitches horrible!! And there doesn’t seem to be a way to opt out. I will stop using this app if that doesn’t change. Now when I go to check anything, big full screen ads pop up and are impossible to get out of until it plays through the whole thing. I just needed to check the radar and had to sit through a long ad for an online gambling app. Totally ruined this app for me. What a GD joke. ### 2/5 — Ruined the app *2026-03-06* I’ve been using this weather app since it was first introduced. It has been my go-to weather app. The latest update has ruined this app. It’s no longer easily customizable, it has overlays that no one asked for and the new configuration of options being spread along the bottom of the window is just annoying. When you change something it adds a custom choice which takes up even more room. On my tablet it has always reduced the map in landscape mode but now it covers even more of the screen so you only see about 1/5th. It’s obvious that this was designed specifically for a phone with very little effort give to a tablet. There is way to much wasted space on the top and bottom. On the smart phone the new layout covers an additional 10% of the screen. The old layout with options on the right side worked great. Why someone had the brilliant idea to change it is beyond me. Unfortunately there’s no going back so I’ll be finding a different weather app. ### 1/5 — Ads on a warning app *2026-03-05* I used to love this app and have used it many times during nearby severe weather, but recently someone thought it would be a great idea to monetize an app that people use as an early warning system. In the time of need the last thing I want is to be interrupted by a 30 sec ad that can’t be skipped. I expect this from silly game apps but a “warn me” app seriously? I guess dollars are more important than safety. ### 1/5 — Earthquake *2026-02-04, version 6.1.401* The update has issues with tracking earthquakes in the “ring of fire.” Not to mention they don’t list exactly where the earthquake occurred. I liked the old version better. Yes, I have deleted the app and downloaded. Twice. ### 1/5 — Too many ads that don’t end! *2025-12-26, version 5.17.706* This was a great weather app until they started using ads. The ads completely take over when you open the app and then some of them don’t go away until you close the app and reload. For some time, though, the updated radar, when in motion, cycles so fast that you cannot tell what storms are doing. If that wasn't bad enough, it now has so many ads that it's almost completely unusable. Ads when you open, way too long, I've even had ads I couldn't get to close. ### 1/5 — Ads galore *2026-05-30, version 6.2.510* This app used to be fantastic, our whole family used it, even when we traveled to Europe always amazing. Now it is non stop ads, every screen you touch you have to watch a full screen ad. I can’t even see the temperature quick without having to watch an ad! The most recent problem is the ad won’t even let me close out of it after watching the whole thing. Now, you cannot open the app or select any functions in the app without an ad playing. And most of the ads are for very disreputable products. I downloaded another local TV station’s app that I will be using instead of this ruined one. ### 1/5 — Severe weather, no watch this ad about virus on your phone first *2026-05-25* Just what I want from an app that used to be my go to for anything weather related. Now every time the screen comes up. I have to wait for an ad of some nonsense over and over and over. Tornado in my area coming this way no watch this ad first and then maybe we’ll show it to you but if the screen refreshes, you’re gonna have to watch the ad again absolute garbage of an update. ### 1/5 — Ads have ruined this app *2026-05-22, version 6.2.510* I used to love this app and recommended it to everyone I know. It is unusable due to the ads. I am writing this review and then deleting it. ### 1/5 — What Happened? *2026-05-06* This weather app used to be fantastic. Now, because of the full-screen pop up ads, I hate it. You can’t click out of the ad. Sometimes they can be 30 seconds to a full minute long, which is a long time when you need to check the weather immediately. I usually swipe up to close out the whole app, and start over. This isn’t even a good fix because after about 3 moves on the app, another ad pops up. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! 😊 Previous review- As other reviewers have noted, this used to be a fantastic app! Now there regularly are advertisements popping up- including sometimes when you initially open the app! It's very annoying to not be able to access information because you have to wait for the ad to finish.
