  • Not sure how to access free only version

I had read reviews and was concerned about being charged when I wanted to utilize the free version. My sister and nephew both use it (for a few months and over a year, respectively), so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I downloaded the app, I saw “free trial,” and a way to purchase for a year. I understand the amount of work put into developing and maintaining a meaningful app, but at this time I am only interested in the free version. When I tried to access the first day of Lent material, I received the “free trial” message again. I deleted the app before O can be charged. Once I am clear on how to access only the free content, I will feel more comfortable downloading the app again.

  • Very responsive to my problem: Cannot get app to open any more!

Within just a few days Hallow contacted me with help for my problem getting into the App. I downloaded the update and all is well again. Thanks, Hallow. It’s a magnificent app. I do listen to it all day again! Bible in a Year—3rd year in a row, and now Catechism in. Year! Love the prayer challenges and the Scriptural Rosay is so moving—and for me, at least, the best way to meditate on each mystery.
I would listen to it all day every day—which I did until around January 1,2023. Now it won’t go any further than the purple screen of the opening page. For a few days, it would open automatically when I I put in my ear buds, and I’d have to pray whatever it offered—I’d be listening to sleep prayers in the morning. But now, even when it prompts me from my routine schedule, when I tap the prompt it just takes me to the purple screen and sits there. For hours, even all day. Very sad to lose it.

Hello. Great news! 8.2.0 has been implemented and should be available to download from the Apple App Store. If the issue persists after the update, please let us know so we can look into it again. Have a blessed week ahead.
  • Needs work

This app is wonderful in terms of content, however, in terms of VoiceOver usability, it needs a good deal of work. It looks as though it should be accessible, however it is often extremely difficult to navigate with voiceover. Much of the home screen is virtually impossible to manage because voiceover gets hung up on the screen and totally freezes. Often there is no way to back out of a screen other than closing the app and starting over. many buttons are either not clearly labeled or labeled at all. instructions on the help screen refer to icons which voiceover users cannot see. There are no voiceover Hints, which would be extremely helpful given the complexity of this app. It is complex enough, in fact, that I would almost like to see a tutorial specifically for voiceover users. At this point, I am not advising other blind users I know to use this app until some changes have been made.I have been using Hallow for about a year now and I'm still learning things about it purely by trial and error. Somehow, this just doesn't seem right!

  • The beautiful truth and rejoicing

Not only are the songs, so very inspirational the music, the singing such in the first book of the New Testament, Matthew says, with worship, both in truth and spirit at one of the other, but both very beautiful and inspirational. I’m Christian I certainly believe in rejoicing in my worship no that doesn’t mean I have to be a great singer, but I sure enjoyed great singing, and music and rejoicing in the Lord, in that way, so I can rejoice in the Lord without ever making a sound. I believe it says in Psalm 100 we are to rejoice in the Lord. Now, in the first book of the New Testament, Matthew says we are to rejoice in the lord, but we are to worship God, in both truth and spirit. Not one or the other but both. This inspirational music helps us to worship in that way. Amazingly beautiful rejoicing but when you hear the words you say the truth, and what is the truth, Jesus is the truth the way and the Life. No man shall go to God, but that he goes through Jesus. Remember he’s the way.

  • Great app to fortify your spiritual journey to Christ!

I started off with the free trial of this app. However, it was not long at all before I decided it would be worth every penny to subscribe to this since this this app really strengthens my spiritual practices. Of note, I like that it has prayers available in different languages. I have made it a goal to learn how to pray the Lord’s Prayer in all the languages available in this app, currently Spanish, Portuguese, Latin, and even Aramaic! hopefully, someday French, Italian and German will be available. There are so many available prayers and lectures available in this app; I particularly enjoyed the newest one by father Vincent Lampert on spiritual warfare. I highly recommend giving this a trial but it is certainly well worth the money spent for this app.

  • Learning to actualize Holy Grace given me by God

My spirit wandered aimlessly in the deserts of this world; but like a seed planted in desert sand, the water of God’s Prevenient Holy Grace germinated my spirit at age twenty-three. I then began reading Holy Scriptures, and The Holy Ghost allowed me to resume my Christian Odyssey in a quest to find the TRUTH , viz., Jesus.

Selfishness I had fallen away from Mother Church at age thirteen. Much earlier (age seven) I had learned of The Divine Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. That knowledge embedded an indelible scruple in my soul about receiving the Blessed Sacrament irreverently. The prayers of my beloved matrilineal Grandmother were graciously answered - in God’s Time. The Holy Ghost allowed me free will to wander in my Protestant spiritual ways until at age sixty-four, until bat last I confessed my sins to a Catholic Priest: I confessed, “Bless me Father, I have sinned. It has been fifty-one years since my last confession . . . . ” .

I had no prior devotions to Our Blessed Mother Mary as a Protestant. In his Divine Mercy Jesus has led me to His Mother Who now leads me to her Divine Son Jesus, my Lord and my God !

  • Never have I felt so close to God, His Word, His Church and His Saints

This app has helped me through one of the toughest times in my life! There has been many wonderful things hallow has done: rosaries, the great adventure Bible in a year, powerful scripture readings, homilies, how to pray instruction, amazing audiobooks, novenas and even mental health. I can’t tell you how it has changed and deepened my faith. I was extremely spiritually dry and felt far from God. This app took my relationship with God to a whole new level. I experience mass in a whole new way. I love Jonathan Roumie’s special accented voice for Jesus! Especially in the rosary. It reminds me of when Jesus’ words are red in the Bible.

I’m praying for all of you at Hallow! May God guide this beautiful ministry you’ve created. It does change and will change even more lives!

  • Mommy Finally Gets Quiet Time!

Before Hallow, my spiritual life was unorganized and reactive. I'd attempt to have quiet time with the Lord, but would be interrupted by my children or my own thoughts. 30 minutes would go by and I'd feel so defeated that I couldn't even make it through one prayer without becoming distracted.

My husband gifted me a subscription 2 years ago and it's now a recurring Christmas gift from him (I can't imagine anything better). Now, my thoughts and prayers are cohesive because the guidance from the app keeps me on track. I've learned so many new prayers that I never knew before, and I can "whip them out" in the middle of whatever chaos might be going on in our day. If my toddler comes in the room during my quiet time, he doesn't have to leave. He understands quiet time now and loves to listen and pray with me. He even requests Hallow in the mornings now! The "Kids" feature has been such a blessing.

If you're a busy mom or a busy anybody, Hallow is an amazing app you won't regret. I've recommended it to everyone I meet who mentions a struggle with their prayer life. It has truly helped change my life for the better. Thank you, Hallow!

  • Latest Update is Super Buggy

I absolutely love the Hallow app, but after the recent update I have been unable to access any of the prayers. Each screen takes forever to load. I though it was an issue on my end like my Internet but having reset my router and switched to cellular only there has been no change. It’s a bummer to want to pray your daily routine and not be able to listen to any of the prayers you planned on. The prayers will sometimes load. However each screen takes several minutes to load and it is very frustrating to have to wait for 8 minutes for a 50% chance of the prayer opening. The app has shutdown (black screen and kicked me off) twice since the update. Hopefully you resolve this soon! I loved the Hallow app up until this most recent update.

  • Very Appealing Interface

I just started using the app yesterday primarily because I read that Mark Wahlberg says the rosary. This was first thing I did and it was a good way to start. The rosary always seemed endless to me but the interface is like an audio file which shows the length of time remaining. It didn’t seem so endless. The interface is simple but appealing. It started with closing your goals - better sleep, less stress, reconnect with faith etc. I then listed to the evening prayer and the speaker had a very soothing voice. Today started a summer book club and the first part (10 min) was very good. I recommend trying Hallow for the free trial period to see if it’s something that works for you. I am thinking about buying 1 year as gifts for my sister and daughter.
