  • The best Catholic app!!!!

This app is phenomenal. I downloaded it for Lent after hearing about it from LizziesAnswers. I used to to learn how to pray the Rosary!

This app has so much in it, Divine Mercy Chaplet, minute meditations, the Rosary, and Bible stories read by different people, and the Bible in a Year podcast with Fr Mike Schmitz. And that’s all the FREE version!

I had used the app everyday so I decided to buy a year subscription. $60 is so worth it! It unlocks EVERYTHING!!! It’s so fantastic, there are more prayers and prayer options to choose from, daily Saints, and Novenas to join! I’m currently a part of the St Joseph Novena.

Not to mention, the customer support is amazing! For some reason my streak had gone from 26 to 1 despite having used the app and prayed the St Michael Prayer. I contacted customer support and they got into contact with me within a few hours and fixed the problem! They were so efficient and so very kind!

This app is so much more than what I expected, the paid version is worth every penny, and you still have so much with the free version as well.

Every person who has made this app what it is deserves a round of applause👏👏

    God bless,
    Sky :)

  • Great for starting! But...

I’ve recently grown back into praying and exploring my faith but needed a guide for when I pray The Rosary on my own and I’ve been using this app for that! I pray mostly at night before bed so the calm voice is soothing and slow enough for me to keep up, like I said in the title, this would be a great app for those just starting to explore their faith or those returning but maybe a prayer book tab on the progress screen would be a nice addition for some of us. I rated this 4 stars because I just wish there was some more features available in the free version, I understand that the developers need some paychecks for this amazing app but users should get some more like a few Bible stories and what not. All that considered, I love this app and will continue to use. 😇

  • Voices

I purchased this app and think the content is excellent, but I haven’t heard enough updates about different voices. The guests are a breath of fresh air but the main voices are a struggle to listen to. I also have to fight the thought that the voices belong to white people, which is not a problem, but also not a fair representation of the millions of Catholics of colour out there, especially those endowed with voices meant to be heard. Headspace has Andy and nobody to my knowledge complains about how he sounds because he sounds great. If this app were free I would be quiet but to make a business out of it no matter how pure the motives—the lack of focus on engaging users by either training the voices they have or getting those who have training or naturally engage with their sound is an honest problem for me. I really want to love this app because my faith means so much for me, so I continue to try to suffer through this until my subscription ends, after which I will likely pray on my own.

  • What a Blessing!

I’m currently using the free trial of Hallow but have decided that it’s definitely worth subscribing. There are so many features that I love.
#Pray 40: St. Joseph is a beautiful daily way to prepare for Easter. The Lent music is beautiful, I especially love listening to the instrumental arrangements. Also love the litanies, rosary, and chaplets. I’ve used the sleep meditations to help me fall asleep at night. I like that I can put a prayer on repeat and set a sleep timer.
In the short time I’ve used it, they’ve added new content. They also sent an email asking for suggestions to improve the app, and sent back a response that they are working on my suggestions!
This app is improving my prayer life and bringing me closer to God.
God bless the folks at Hallow!

  • 20 years young & learning

I honestly don’t know how I found this app. I was raised Catholic and attended weekly mass. But once I got to college I decided to put Christianity on the back burner and do life my way. So I did & it got to be pretty self-destructive and wasn’t bringing about goals or calming my worries I was missing God in my plan. COVID-19 happened and that sent me back into my child home & emotionally was rough being in quarantine & feeling this overwhelming amount of shame & guilt & this yearning to get closer to God. I love mediation & was using headspace often. But I remember reading this article saying how vision boards and affirmations were the law of attraction & how mediation can even be focused to much on yourself. I realized I call myself Catholic but I wasn’t at all I wasn’t living a Christian filled life. I wanted to find truth and grow back in my faith & this app is beautifully designed & so well thought out that it’s slowly helping me back to my Catholic faith. Thank you 💜

  • Great app! Only one problem...

I love this app. I only use the free version since I’m not able to pay for the subscription and there is still so much content available! It’s simple and helpful (especially to an easily distracted mind like mine).
The only problem I’ve come across is on setting reminders. It requires that you choose a habit to attach your reminder to...although this is a great idea the only options are not applicable to me. I like to is the app as soon as I put my little one down for a nap so it bothers me that I have to just choose a random habit in order to set a reminder for me to pray. I would suggest being able to type in your own habit or just remove the requirement.
All in all, this app still deserves 5 stars. I think that the creators are doing wonderful things and I greatly appreciate all the work they’ve put into it!

  • This app transformed my prayer life!

I started using this app about 8 months ago and I learned so many beautiful ways to pray! The content is rich with beautiful guided prayers and devotions, surpassing all apps... then Hallow goes and adds even more amazing content! Fr Mike Schmitz, a beautiful man of God with ways of speaking to connect anyone to the inner chambers of their heart and then, Hallow added content such as Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus on The Chosen, and reads Jesus's famous sermon from the Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5 - 9! Tears! Tears of joy and love! I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! Truly, last night I feel asleep listening to my Lord and Savior. I cannot thank the team at Hallow enough for this beautiful gift! It’s a must have! This team truly loves helping bring us all closer to God as it shows in each and every part of this app! May God bless and keep you, Hallow team! What a beautiful ministry he’s called you to! Praise God!

  • A new decade - a new awakening

I just turned 60 and have felt a draw to go to mass and a need to pray, but put it off. I heard Father Rich Pagano on The Catholic Talk Show mention the Hallow app for your phone. I downloaded and it sat there for a few weeks. Well today, I was alone in the house and the rumble of an approach thunderstorm and I decide to try Hallow. I selected a 5 minute prayer with God in silence, it was amazing and left me needing more, so I click on the Angelius prayer because I have a deep devotion to Our Blessed Mother, than I listen to a presentation of St. Theresa of Avila and I was blown away, it is as if the presentation was written just for me. I am energized and want more. Time to upgrade from the free version to the paid version. I also am going to be inviting people in my life to join this community, which is such a blessing during this pandemic. God Bless and keep you all!

  • This app can change your life- and not just for Catholics!

I stumbled upon the Christian tradition of contemplative prayer about a year ago and promptly began practicing it on my own. I was pretty good about doing it most every day, but some days were certainly more focused than others. Someone told me about Hallow and I immediately fell in love. I cannot rave enough about this app! I have told all my friends about it (most of whom are not Catholic). Now I can do multiple meditations a day and sometimes I will turn on the angelus or rosary while I am cooking or cleaning for an extra spiritual boost. I have been using the free version for a few months and there is so much great content that I feel like I’m stealing from them! 😬 I will definitely buy the premium version eventually, because this app has already helped me so hugely in deepening my relationship with Christ. Now I feel totally “off” and not nearly as kind or happy when I skip my morning prayer session. I cannot recommend this highly enough- if you commit to it and keep the habits going, it WILL change your life!

  • Apple Watch app??

Even though I’ve only had the app for a week I cannot begin to explain how much it has helped me as a Catholic young adult. I’ve never been dutiful with practicing the faith, and it’s so great to have such a great number of resources to look into and pray with. I can’t thank the creators enough for an app that looks great, is accessible, and is so calming.

Almost every session begins with the same introduction which was starting to bother me, but it’s becoming less of an issue as I just start to think of the deep breathing and attention focus to God as a routine I need to get into.

Would LOVE to see an Apple Watch app to be able to listen to prayers through that on workouts and such. Also, maybe the prayer goal could have the option to change to times a day instead of times a week? Anyway, Hallow is great you should get it!
