Good at reminding me to drink…

But not a fan of the most recent update. I hate how now every time I log water, it automatically pops up a screen full of ads or pressures me to subscribe. I’m supposed to pay $10 per month for this?? Absolutely not.

I love this app

So I started plant nanny a few days ago and I love it! It’s so cute and love the customisation options. I occasionally do cheat but it’s still fun and helps to get a notification.

It’s helping me get the water I need!

I have always struggled to drink water, and would maybe have 1 cup a week, if that. Although Plant Nanny isn’t the only reason I’ve improved my water intake, it has been a huge step! I’m now getting a bottle a day, and plan to slowly increase the amount I need until I am drinking what I should be every day! Also the plants are adorable and make me happy.

Plant nanny

This app has helped me so much with keeping up my water and staying hydrated. It’s so fun to grow the different plants and have collections. I think this is a really great app if you ever need some help with staying hydrated!

pre good

It’s pretty good! It works veryyyy well and especially with my ADHD it helps me remember to drink water because I have to feed my plant other wise it’ll die! :O it’s very entertaining and cute! And a simple way to get on a better mood and drink water :P thank you to the people who made this!

RECOMMEND: I recommend making a feature (that’s free) so you can change the look of you plant. Like add blush or eyelashes or a cap or whatever..just an idea that you might consider!!

QUESTION: how do I know when I can buy new plants? I have one plant ‘devils plant’ but I’m not sure how to get new ones.

AMAZING!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As a teenager i see that my friends and the people around me drink way more water than i do. I used to drink up to 1 glass of water whilst my mum was on her 12th. I really struggled until i wanted to change the amount of water i drink in a day. When i first downloaded it i found it so hard to keep motivated to hit my recommended goal if water to drink in a day. Before i used to alternate between Milk, Fanta and Milkshake but now i find that i will add water in my cycle and instead of grabbing milk to put in my glass im reaching to turn the tap on for water. I have seen my water intake go up and i am proud. This app has so many cool features to see and use! Check it out! Trust me you are missing out!

Was better before

Used it in the past with way more free options available. Now its all adds and extra purchases which make it not as fun.

Not Worth It

I’ve used the companies first app when it came out and then this app (before ending the first one) and they were great. Then the subscription came out and lost a lot of features and plants that are no longer useable without the subscription. I used the subscription for a while and was nice but for $8 a month there are other options elsewhere.
My main issue is the ability to level up which is painful slow. I’ve been stuck at level 14 for over a year and now only have made it to the half way point and this is playing daily with a streak of 804 days of continuous playing.
Also the amount of acorns received is small when the more fancier plants are several hundred up to 2k (but that’s expected of an ads based game and the option to pay for acorns). I also provide in play feedback whenever it’s offered which is a nice surprise for some apps I’ve used but it doesn’t seem to matter.
If you are starting out the basic plants will do just fine but don’t expect to be a master gardener or going anywhere with what they have to offer. The plants offered don’t change and the special month ones are the same ones as the year before. Save your money on this one.

Truly Helping Me Drink More Water

As someone with likely lifelong undiagnosed ADHD, or as I like to call it “DAVE”, gamifying things like this helps give me the external motivation I need to accomplish my goals. I love making my plant happy and feeling like something else besides my own health is dependent upon me drinking enough water. I need more games like this in my life!
Life hack tip for people in their forties who think they have “DAVE”, don’t write off childish seeming things like fidget toys, or games like this. Our brains are different and we need to look outside the box for answers. It’s not about trying harder. It’s about trying different things, until we find what works for us and rewards our brains in a way that lets us “do the things”. You are NOT lazy. You just don’t have the dopamine already available in your brain that the majority has. You can’t manifest it by just trying harder. Find ways to make it “fun/novel” instead. Gamifying chores has been a good strategy for me, and now I’ve found a good one for water drinking. Good luck fellow neurodivergent brains! And drink your water! :D

I really love this app but cant just give it 5 stars yet!

I have suggestions that can improve this app while looking at this as an advertising design major. I see some pain points.

There should be an option for people to change their drink log from the day previous if they forgot to log their drink intake. I had drank water the previous day but forgot due to assignments and cant log it in because it’s the next day.
The app should also allow the ability for people to track an unconventional amount that is less than a cup, so like 3 ounces for example. Then that way they can see how much they actually drank in total and how much they need to make up a cup.
If possible people should be able to track things other than water, such as tea. I know this is a water tracking app, but other ways of hydration exist.
It would also be nice for people to see a whole chart of their water intake in a year and allow them to celebrate goals or encourage them to keep drinking water for the next year.
Keeping a calendar system for people to check in on the year and months individually like the Apple calendar would be nice.

The app itself is easy to use and I love the music, characters, and aesthetic. The app really does get me to drink water. These pain points however makes me want to keep looking for other habit apps that fulfill these things. Otherwise it’s great and I will continue using it. It is after all, the app that had me drinking the most compared to others! :)
