App and Connectivity Needs Work
Frequent app lockups, login issues, and connectivity issues. Two software engineers here trying to connect the EggGenius to my WiFi router using the App with latest iOS. A trifecta of problems makes the device unusable. Nice concept. Poor execution. Bad strategy on my part for trying this out for the first time on Memorial Day!

Cannot make an account, and thanks to the new update, cannot use your egggenius without making an account.
EDIT*** Customer service responded after hours, on a weekend, and it appears they have fixed the issue. Way to go.

For as much money as we pay into this community!!!! I own two, fix the interface of egg genius. Also, why can’t I see my temp while my iPhone is in standby? Make it a widget!

Too much money for poor performance
We spend a lot of money for our eggcessories and we need them to work. The app is a disaster from a consistency standpoint. First two hours of cooking a brisket was great, then lost connection. After that, complete disaster. Now trying to spend Christmas with family and having to personally monitor the brisket. We bought this so we could could go you our daughters house for Christmas Eve and now I’m leaving every hour to check it because the app will not connect to the device and good luck logging or resetting the password. App developer must fix this issue before anyone should buy the product. Very disappointed!

It could be a great gadget
There’s so much potential, but every time I want to use the Egg Genius there has been an issue with connecting to the server/cloud which is exactly why I purchased the device. At over $250 I expect a lot more. When you grill on holidays, you can’t use the features that make it handy. You’re much better off just purchasing a digital thermometer than this junk.

App not refreshing values unless I switch screens and trigger a refresh
I’ve never noticed this behavior before and I’ve been using the green egg and associated application for two years. It also appears the app has not been updated for a year, so I don’t think this is related to the application itself, but perhaps the cloud service that is supporting it.
The values are no longer refreshing real time like they used to. I have to switch away from the monitoring screen to either a history page or close the app and reopen the app and then I will get the most current values when it reconnects.
Hope this behavior gets solved quickly. It’s a real pain.

What happened?
This app has always been adequate, but is now a frustrating experience. I always appreciated the ability to connect directly to my egg Genius. Now once you lose the connection, I can’t figure out a way to reconnect without a reboot of the Genius. Hope they fix this soon!
Update suggestion
It would be helpful to be able to add picture and videos into the notes section.
Don’t waste your time
The app and the egg genius communicate about as well a a bird and an orange. Impossible to get a connection. Why the app just won’t do a direct cook without internet is beyond me. I love my BGE, but I will never purchase another accessory or use this horrible app
Pretty garbage, but you don’t have another choice so here we are
First off yes, the app works to a degree and you don’t have to check on the smoker as much as you would with another, but the AI that controls the fan is horrible. It spams me pit open and closed messages like every other minute, which then cuts off the fan when I need it on the most. Why can’t we manually control the fan speed? Why can’t we set increases or decreases in speed when certain temps are hit? Why can’t the temp readings be accurate? Did I get a Lemmon? Or is everyone having this problem? I have to set it to 500 degrees just so the fan can stay on so I can hit 280. If I set it at the temp I want then it’ll coast either 40 degrees under or over. There are some times where it gets it right, but it can be so frustrating
