3 years on and still can’t remotely lock/ unlock

Used for holiday home for last 3 years where important to stop guests from fiddling with controls (given how complicated they are) or ,heaven forbid, decide to lock and set own password. Couldn’t amend controls remotely when locked when installed 3 years ago and still can’t. Completely negates benefits of being able to control remotely. Come on Dimplex do you really have such a poor regard for your customers that despite this being the most frequent complaint with the app you still haven’t fixed this?!

Disappointing

Having previously been used to using the Tado app I was expecting a similar level of control. There seems to be no way of setting the system to frost protection if you are away from home. You must set individual temperatures.
A nice idea but it needs development

Horrible app that’s almost impossible to control

I’ve no idea how to set a schedule. Sometimes I can get it to work but most of the time it fails to update the settings.
Evidently designed by an engineer instead of a software developer.
Please seek some help to make it usable.

Desperately Needs Improvement

When it works, the app is adequate - if a little slow. Despite it requiring local hardware, it is clear this heavily relies on the cloud.

But this biggest vital problem is that when setting schedules, despite saying they successfully save, it fails to save. The amount of days I have had no heat because this app has failed to save schedules (and I’ve failed to check by going back into the schedule) are numerous. And what’s worse, it has sometimes taken me up to 4 times of setting the schedule for it to finally save. This is one of the main functions on the app and for it to be so unreliable is really poor and desperately needs work - especially when the app claims the schedule save has been successful which is completely misleading.

Additionally there is no external integrations - so there is absolutely no option to use HomeKit, Matter or Home Assistant to try and get around it. Just stuck with this buggy app.

These pieces of hardware are not cheap. Dimplex - please sort this out.

Only half done - disappointing

Needs to be properly developed and updated. The essential functionality to remotely set charge times etc and lock/unlock for letting property are just not there! These are vital remote control requirements particularly for single supply operation. Disappointing for a high profile company with a lot of technical resources.

Pleased to see the zoom facility has been put back on today 2 September 24. Just need to add the ability to amend the charge times remotely!

Frustrating !

It is imposibile to connect the app with the hub, unless you are an expert !
The guy who installed it and he knows this stuff couldn’t do it and i just spend half day trying: to create an account, to link the hub and to make it work ! It is saying is soooo simple …… nit really!

Disappointed

Really poor app performance. Have managed to get the different heaters in different rooms set to different profiles throughout the day - but the connection is lost more than 50% of the time - meaning you can’t change the temperatures or the profiles as and when you’d like. I’d expect this performance from an app 10-15 years ago but in 2024 it is poor. Look forward to spring when I can just switch all the heaters off.

Poor app

My husband and I consider ourselves to be relatively IT savvy. But this app is driving us mostly me, mad! We have 20 heaters in out hall and at the moment I would rather go back to using an old fashions timer! It takes a long time to connect which i have learnt to deal with but learning how the app works is a nightmare and i still scant say with certainty that heating is going to come on for hirers!

Terrible company

Purchased baseboard heaters because of the app control. Discontinued app less than a year later. Dimplex, next time, don’t enter Market that’s too complicated for you without doing your research.

Who’s then responsible for scrapping the app to control all this gear I just installed! Dimplex only has integrity in Europe?

Alternatives to Dimplex Control
