  • Game is going down hill fast (edit 1/28)

I agree with other reviewers. I’m only on level 3-5 and it takes forever to win if you don’t have the tools. Needing 210 assemblers per collection but only being able to win 6ish assemblers per location is lousy. I’m also experiencing constant glitches when I try to use the friends button.

Need to include counts for energy restoration (217 current energy/ 250 max energy) and counts for 100% experience (64% but how many experience points do I need to level up)

Update 11/26...many gifts are not credited to inventory. Again, you need so many assemblers and this further frustrates my enjoyment of game. I estimate I only get credited with 1/3 of the gifts. Many glitches in game that don’t seem to get fixed.

Every time I need to add to this review the rating drops a star. I started with a 5 star review in October and now I’m down to a 2 star rating.

Update 1/28....I completed all the available quests over two weeks ago and no new quests have appeared since. Game is meaningless without quests to purse! I agree with other reviewers who talk about the game being heavily manipulated (I refer to them as f-you levels). Customer service is a waste of time, all they do is ask for more info and never fixed a single issue. I’ve gone from this being my fave game to wondering why bother.

  • What happened??

This was my favorite game until a couple days ago. I had just started playing the new China Gate game section for a day or so when my screen went black.
Thinking I needed to update something I cleared everything from my computer, looked for an update I hadn’t done yet (I didn’t have one) restarted my computer and the same thing. I haven’t been able to play now for a couple days.
I have deleted about a dozen apps I wasn’t using, all my messages, most of my pictures and nearly 1000 old emails. Still doesn’t work with my favorite game.
I am on an iPad with 32 gigs of memory.

  • Still new, probably 4*, but needs one bi* improvement

Other games of the type have a distinct change between normal blocks and special blocks. It hasn’t been obvious when a horizontal or vertical colored tile is created. Even after knowing that the tile simply changes slightly with directional marks, I sometimes miss the special tiles.
The tutorial should also highlight how many different combinations can be made. For example, in one game four in a square makes a combo. Not here, so is it simply 3, 4 & 5. The T still works for making bombs, bu5 that is in essence two rows of three together. I did make a combo connecting a bomb to a horizontal clear tile, but can’t set of horizontal tiles without a combination.

  • I’m addicted!

*** I've had to downgrade my stars because as of today (1/3/20) the game will not load on my iPhone w iOS 13.2.3. It worked fine yesterday & I was in same iOS. It gets to the loading screen (showing the woman who guides thru the games & a man in a blue cape pointing out to the city below them) & then quits back to my iPhone home page showing the app. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP! I play this game several times a day & LOVE it!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I play this game EVERY DAY & several times a day. There are SO many different places you can “explore” (play different layouts) that it never gets morning! Plus as you progress, you gather statues that award you everything from in-game tools to help clear the boards to energy (and not just a few ... a lot of the times around 100pts), to collector pieces that give you more rewards when assembled. If you like connect 3 games, you should love this one!

  • Great but very expensive after level 29

Very fun with a great sense of progressive challenge. At approximately level 25 it becomes more increasingly difficult to complete a puzzle unless you buy help so that you can move through puzzle. This is gotten incredibly frustrating and disappointing as it’s expensive to continue play. It also feels like the game manipulates the way pieces fall in order to force you to use them so that you will run out of moves. Overall as much as I enjoyed it I ended up feeling like it was a manipulation to get me to pay more and more money to play and while I feel that all developers deserve earning money for great games at some point there’s a diminishing return when it just cost too much to continue on.

  • Jewels of Rome Gameplay

I really do like how players can collect all sorts of valuable items and be able to upgrade different kinds of buildings and statues, while mostly swapping jewels and pieces of wood. It’s definitely fun. However, there have been some issues as well, such as trying to look for ways to get more gems, without purchasing more with real money within the game. I also don’t understand what to do with most of the items that just happen to appear in my inventory. Other than that, I’ll definitely continue playing Jewels of Rome, and I’m writing this review to receive three gems, since I don’t have any.

  • Starts off Great

I’ve been playing for at least a month, I’ve played other G5 games and enjoyed them so I thought this would be another one. I’m at level 23 and am calling it quits. The match three puzzles have gotten impossibly difficult, to the point that I have played the same puzzle over 7 or 8 times and still can’t win. (Sometimes I swear it looks like the game is manipulating so you can’t win.) The game encourages you to use helps, which of course cost money when you run out of the few the game gives you. If you don’t win the regular puzzles you don’t earn masks to play the seasonal game. My suggestion: if you are FTP, skip this game. If you are PTP give it a try.

  • Pretty decent beginning

I just started playing this match-3 game and am on level 10. So far, so good. It looks as though it will cause the user to often need to pay to buy bonus items, but that just introduces more of a challenge: beat the level the first time and not require bonuses nor payment. It should be possible, though difficult, to play for free. I admit, I’m a FB of G5 games, though at times the UI could use further testing and debugging prior to release on the ApplebApp,Store. Such is the case here, which is why it earned four stars from me instead of five.

  • Enjoyable

I like this game a lot but there are often problems getting rubies and special offers that are paid for but never show up in game. Plus this is a VERY EXPENSIVE game to play. Without the boosters it is almost impossible to move on, thus the need to buy rubies.
IF I could use the huge amount of gold coins for boosters or other needed items to complete collections, it would not be so bad. As it is I will soon be deleting it because I cannot afford to continue buying rubies🥵

  • Overall Plan?

It would be helpful to understand the plan or idea of what l’m meant to do in the village. I’m just plopped there with minute description & told to line up 3 of this or 4 of that. There’s no real cohesive gameplay here. And very importantly, the explanations & scrolls are much too tiny for small screens. Nothing takes the fun out of a game like having to stop and get a magnifying glass to read instructions. On the small displays then, I’d have the instructions cover the field so they can be read. And don’t “time out” the player by only displaying it briefly; wait until the player presses ok, done, or next before moving on to the next screen or ending it altogether.
