Lost everything

Just updated and lost all of my reminders, what the hell!!!

Great app that just screwed up its users

I’ve been using this app for years and loved its simple interface. It’s super effective at random reminders. Just great!

But now it’s gone and updated and added new features that I don’t need—which is probably fine for someone else—and in the process it DELETED ALL THE REMINDERS. What?!? There was no warning, no way to save them, no nothing! They probably would have run forever if I hadn’t made the mistake of opening the app, but as soon as you do, it pops up this friendly little walkthrough screen that hides the fact that it’s just trashed your reminders!

You don’t realize it until you’re asked to set your *first* reminder and are presented with a blank screen…and then the penny drops. It’s all gone. You have to create it all from scratch. Hope you remember what you had in there, because there’s no way to get it back!

And I have to say that the new features are really confusing compared to the simplicity of the old layout. All I want are the random reminders. That’s all I ever needed. Don’t confuse me with this other stuff.

I hope you won’t ever trash your users’ data like this again. Once is too many times already.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. I’m very sorry to hear your old data disappeared. It shouldn’t have happened… In fact, the precise main reason for this new total app update has been to prevent things like that. It won’t happen again! The old Yapp was created many many years ago, but the new version is totally safe and allows iCloud syncing or even downloading your reminders as a pdf file.. it’s also worth mentioning that Yapp policy has always been to not track or store any user data, which means users should be careful and responsible to backup their reminders regularly. I’ve been a user for years!

I’ve loved the app for years! I actually hadn’t opened it in so long but I had decided to change one of my reminders to something else, and the whole app was different! lol I’ve just kept the same ones for so long

I really love the new sound options and being able to change the color of a lot of stuff, it is really cool now! I’ve recommended it to people!

I also made it a widget, so that’s also really cool!

Great App

This app is so great, I've been using it for years. There were a few key features missing. The ability to slide a reminder on/off is key. That was one main feature that was needed and you nailed it. The other thing that I think can be improved is increasing the number of reminders per day. I'd like to be able to set that to whatever number I'd like. It should be customizable, I want to be reminded MANY things MANY times a day! If you increased that from 9 (or 12), I'd gladly pay for this app. Keep up the great work. Great update!

Brilliant!

I’ve been thinking about an app like this for a long time. I thought I was going to have to learn how to make it myself. Then I stumbled across an amazing Reddit that led me in this direction. Enjoying the heck out of this app you can add anything from motivational sayings to insights from the Tao Te Ching or even Ben Franklins virtue system. Go crazy! App is free and ethical in not sharing personal data. Brilliant!!

Almost Perfect!

This app is amazing, and one of the only ones like it. I LOVE that data is not tracked or used, and the only things I wish it had was more color options, the ability to sync to the cloud across devices, and the ability to organize reminders/quotes into folders that you could select. Great work though!

LOVE THIS!!

I really enjoy this app and its simplicity. I was looking for an app that could send me reminders/notifications so I could stay on top of reading and saying affirmations and this is exactly what i was looking for. The interface is simple, there's not a lot of random other features, and there's few enough buttons to where if you are confused a couple of clicks should solve everything!

Sad to see you go. 😔

It’s been 3 years since the app has been updated. The developer website and app support go to the dead letter office. I have hundreds of quotes in it and rely on the app daily. Unfortunately it appears it’s time to move on before it crashes and I lose all my quotes for 2nd time. It was a great app. We had a lot of fun together. 🪦
