Not what I wanted

I wanted a game that would actually challenge my proofing skills. It increases in speed as you go along, and the words have obvious letters that don’t belong and are easy to spit. These don’t necessarily enhance your proofing skills. In fact, if you are proofing a paper, you shouldn’t speed through it. I understand that it’s a game, and the speed of which you respond makes it more of a challenge, but this is not what I was looking for when I downloaded the game. The Zen mode is a nice option, but it shouldn’t be endless. Give it a time limit, too, or set different levels in Normal mode, so that you can advance to a higher level if you wish to play at a faster pace.

Great fun and a mind builder

This game is not only fun, it sharpens your mind. It actually should improve your reading speed as you play. Trust me, I’m a doctor. 😊

Interesting concept

A very interesting concept for a game, would be an amazing tool to help editors/journalists practice their spellchecking skills.
Though I must say this was a little misleading - you mentioned no in app purchases, yet you only have access to “crime” and the rest you have to purchase.

Has potential

The game really has potential, but falls a little flat. It gets boring and repetitive after 10 minutes or so, and that’s coming from a total grammar nazi. I love the idea the game takes of being a book editor, but this game just feels like it’s missing something. Wouldn’t spend money on it. I hope they make something more out of the premise in the future. Maybe a full, in depth game instead of an arcade style? Or at least make it more detailed and less repetitive somehow?

Averaqe

I’d like to give this a higher rating, but the amount they make you spend on extras aren’t worth it. The story line isn’t amazing either. It’s a time killer for about three minutes but that’s it. Good luck!

Response from developer

The "story line" is generated every game from a set of templates that we've written and curated for each of the four genres. Because of that random generation, each game features less of a cohesive story and more of a general feel of the genre (the sentences in the Crime genre are meant to sound like random lines from a book from that genre). Regardless, thanks for taking the time to write your review, and thanks for playing Typochondria! Chester Monty Games

elegant smooth design, a fresh concept! for those of us who are offended by signs with inexplicable apostrophe’s. honest and respectful use of the free to play model.

Ehh

The design and music choices are nice, that’s about it.
You’re just clicking words that are painfully obviously spelled wrong, with z’s, q’s, x’s and so on in places that are very easy to spot. Plus, you only get one story for free and have to buy the rest of them, so I finished in about 2 minutes and then uninstalled.
Boring and not worth the time or money.

Response from developer

The typos that are generated during the game increase in complexity over time; the earlier pages of the game use very easy-to-spot typos, whereas the later pages use typos that can be more difficult to find at first glance. Regarding the "one story for free": rather than use ads or in-app currency, we decided to offer the Crime genre for free and allow users to access the other genres with a one-time in-app purchase. We understand that this game isn't everyone's cup of tea, so we wanted to provide people with the opportunity to try it out first. Chester Monty Games

Wow how incredibly boring

This game is beyond boring. Your just tapping words that are obviously misspelled. And they are so easy to point out since they have random Q’s and Z’s in them.

Response from developer

The typos that the system generates increase in complexity over time. In the earlier part of the game, the typos are more obvious, but as you reach a higher page count, the typos start to become more insidious (using kerning, modifying the order of letters, etc.) Chester Monty Games
