Beauty of a well designed tool

If you are an engineer, scientist, or STEM student NCalcFx I believe this to be the best calculator in the App Store. It’s a joy to work with beautiful tools and that is what this app is — especially if you’re ever used Casio scientific calculators.

It has one flaw I don’t like — the 1/x key should work immediately on the last answer (=single key press) but NCalc takes 3 key presses to do that. maybe it could be fixed in a future version. Another wish list item would be to improve the cut and paste functionality of the SOLVE function so continue with the answer — currently the cut/paste grabs an entire object which cannot be smashed into parts so you have to resort to typing each numeral of the answer across manually (unless there’s some trick I haven’t found).

These small quirks only stand out because the overall design is so balanced and clean. This calculator is a pleasure to use, I was very glad to pay for the pro version in order to support this kind of craftsmanship. Download the free version and see if you like it as much as I do.

The best scientific calculator

The only calculator that handle complex numbers coordinate conversion perfectly. There was an issue before this update where the rectangular coordinates wouldn’t show in their entirety. This issue was reported to the developers and has been resolved now. The best scientific calculator on the App Store :).

By the way, one issue in the latest update: I don’t like new app icon :(. The original one was nice. Please consider replacing either with the old one or a new one that’s more appropriate. This one is not square and looks like a partial photograph of a physical calculator!

Life saver

So far so good. As a PhD student in electrical engineering, this app is very useful, especially its matrix calculations and complex number manipulation. I’m using it not only for my research but also for my daily life calculations.

Does what it says on the tin!

A simple app that works across both iPad and IPhone and I used the free version for a while, but the one time purchase is well worth it, and it’s nice to see a one time purchase even made available in the age of subscription fees.

Just What I Need

I’ve been trying numerous scientific calculators based on Google searches for apps. I’ve tried a good number and none despite their reviews were right. I found this on the App Store by flicking through the apps here. Stumbled on this and gave it a go. Bought the lifetime version for £5 and very pleased with the results.

Small size

This is such a brilliant app, I just wish there was an option of making it (a bit) smaller so it doesn’t fill the whole screen on a Pro Max and then there’s less hand movement.

It’s just feels a bit unwieldy operating it in the whole screen.

Ideally you would be able to fix the smaller screen towards the corner of your preference, say bottom right.

Great app

I love this calc been using for years it has a high tech look and I paid for the ad free version. It looks great and works great on my I pad pro. Split screen and slide over works very well. My only complaint I wish there was a way to display numbers in a column fashion. When adding long lists of numbers they disappear off the right of the screen since they populate left to right. Of course you can use the arrows to slide the numbers back into view. But that is slow. I’d like to see a wrapping function, or better yet the ability to tally numbers in a vertical column as you would by hand on paper and it would be neat to see a line under this column and the total sum as you would do and see on paper.

The best calculator app you will ever need

This app has made me so happy. Over the past 4 years, every now and again I jump on the App Store hoping to find a good calculator app. I’ve always failed, but at last I found this one, and it’s actually perfect. Simple to use, shows all your working, but with very expansive features which are intuitive if you know the maths. Great user guide as well. I love it, thank you!!!!!

NCalc

Anyone interested in a good calculator should give NCalc a try... I've been using it now for a few months and I'm happy to say it's probably the best calculator I've ever owned... I got this calculator on my Mac, iPhone and iPad.

It's a very feature rich calculator. You can enter written formulas in as you would see them in a text book. I highly reccommend it!
