Not good.

Notifications, Club feed and Emails all found in different areas. When you recieve a notification on your phone you’d expect to be directed to it, or at at least find it in ‘notifications’ nope gone to Club Feed.

Go to ‘My Events’ I get the event name and date but no location or a link to the event schedule. Utterly pointless.

Perhaps this is not a fault with the App but the way my local swim club (Redditch, UK) uses the service. As tabs like Documents and Who’s Who are empty. Perhaps the developer could provide training to help swim clubs make use of the app.

Response from developer

Hi, sorry you feel that way. Tapping on the event name will show you all the information. It sounds like your club has decided not to use club documents or the who’s who sections. We do have an online knowledge base explaining how to set all that up.

Lacking features

Missing swimming times from the events (only PBs) and it’s not possible to notify about absences on trainings. Both features are available on the web version of the app.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the review. It’s not meant to replicate the web version and you can always log in there to see everything else.

Keeps swimmers in touch

Tried early versions and they were not great.
But by version 4 it offers useful functions for swimmers/parents to keep them in touch (Avoids the issue of SCM bulk emails going to SPAM), and provide feedback when they cannot make sessions. Also useful for coaches to take attendance registers.

Have now rolled out to all club members, and seems to be going well - especially during COVID where we have to be much stricter in pre-planning which sessions a swimmer can attend.

Do not confuse with Swim Manager, which is a different app for a different system.

Does the job.

The app is fairly easy to navigate. And gives me most of the information I need as a parent.

It would be useful if the log in details could be saved. Or there was a Face ID option. This would save a few steps each time.

I’m unclear where emails I save are stored or accessed in the app. An onscreen message says an email has been sent to the queue. But not sure if there is sent items folder. If there is, it’s not obvious to find.

There is an issue with attachments on incoming emails which are not available. I understand this is with the developer for a fix. This means any attachments cannot be read for now.

General navigation is fairly intuitive. But would benefit from additional options such as a back button to revert to previous screen. But others it fairly logical.

The app is not really much better than using the web version. However it does have the advantage of optional notifications which I find useful.

Simple, effective and dead easy to use

Simple and effective app based on the full web version. Constantly being developed with regular and useful updates based on user feedback. Support by the developer (Ben) for both app and web version is second to none.

Response from developer

Thank you for the excellent review. I will pass your comments on to the team.

Okay

When I saw this app I thought great, we use SCM, just what I need. It doesn't give me anything, I'm better off using the web version on my phone. Be great if this could be developed to all full functionality

Response from developer

Thanks fir the review. It is a cut down version designed for parents really.
