Bumpy lanes and 4 lane crosses

After almost getting knocked off two days in a row by cars, I was intrigued by this app for finding safer bike routes. I tried it once and it’s pointless. Took me down bumpy bluestone laneways that are impossible to cycle on then wanted me to cross a 4 lane main road to get to the other laneway on the other side. I get that it looks fine on the map and that the map won’t show paved laneways but surely, if the point is to make better cycle routes, there should be some way to fix this.

Possible solutions: 1. let me give feedback on a street and tag it as cobblestones. Is there not a database in Victoria for al bluestone laneways? Or which suburbs they’re prominent in? 2. You know that if you have a crossing that’s not perfectly lined up, then it’s obviously not an intersection and therefore has no traffic lights so is impossible to cross. Can’t you algorithm that in? “If : laneway not opposite, route= nope; “ lol.

Switching fuel type

Too hard to change fuel type on screen

Response from developer

Hey, thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. We've passed this on to our design team so they can take a look at how we can make it easier to change the fuel type. Thanks.

Love the live train info

Great that you can tap on a train station at get the live updates on train times- I use this every day for my commute into the city.

Response from developer

Hey Julia, Thanks for your feedback! Our live PT updates certainly come in handy!

PT routes not accurate

I checked some pt routes against google and the suggested routes were much worse than the routes planned by google maps. Bad

Game changer for cycling

The colour coded bike map is an absolute game changer when trip planning and looking for new cycling routes.

I encountered a few minor glitches when using the navigation guidance, but this remains by far the best app I’ve ever used for cycling.

I will be recommending it to my friends.

Response from developer

Hey Sophia, Thanks so much for the great review. We're glad the arevo app helps you find new cycling routes to ride :)

Good directions for bikes but…

Good directions for bikes but the street names are too small to read and only get smaller when you zoom in. Also the app doesn’t yet know places I ask for, even when I can see them on the map. The ability to drop a pin and navigate to it would be useful.

Hi there, Thank you so much for your kind words! This is exactly the type of review which keeps our team motivated and working hard to make arevo the best it can possibly be. I've passed on the feedback you've provided to development team and we'll look at adding this to our list of user recommendations. Kind regards, Andy

Great app BUT….

Great app but to be clear the price of ULP98 & ULP95 differ significantly so putting them in the same category is just skewing the app’s output.
Also many service stations don’t carry ULP95 so they look like they are charging higher prices compared to the others.
Please update this issue to report as 2 separate fuel types and then it will be be an excellent app.
Also the price ascending/ descending button isn’t working.
Thanks for your efforts.

Hi Tessa, We're glad you've enjoyed using the arevo app so far! Thank you so much for your feedback. We're actually looking at unbundling the ULP95/ULP98 (as well as the other fuel types) in the next update coming very soon. If you have any other feedback please reach out to us at hello@arevo.com.au, we'd love to hear how we can make arevo better. Thanks, Andrew

Turn by turn is fantastic

Best bike maps out there. The quiet route makes me feel safe unlike apple or Google maps that takes you along deadly roads. The new turn by turn feature is fantastic compared to what it was before so very happy about that. Very small suggestion but if you turn off the audio it would be nice if it remembered. I usually listen to music and whenever I start me route my ears get blasted. It would be nice if I could turn off directions by audio and the app remembered that I didn’t want it on. Again very small but would be nice. Cheers legends

Instantly disappointed

Saw this app in an ad on instagram. I liked the idea, so I downloaded the app.

As I was setting the app up with my frequent locations, to add my home, work etc. I got API error. So I couldn’t actually get very far within the first 2 minutes of using the app.

As a result, I’ll continue to do what I was doing previously until resolved.

Hi Casey, Thanks for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. It certainly sounds odd that you had an API break in the app while you were using it! Are you able to get in touch via hello@arevo.com.au, as we'd love to understand more around about when this occurred so that we may look at implementing a fix as a priority. Thanks, Andy

Useless and out of date

This should be a great app but it’s not. Problems include listing businesses that have not been around for years, incorrect suburb identification, not showing the cycle path colours as described in the pop up legend, not having a way to notify specific errors from within the app…probably many more but this was my first 2 minutes worth.
