I’ve been a subscriber since this app was launched and the features have saved me a lot of time clustering matches, finding common ancestors and surnames and tree-building. There have been some service bumps along the way but the developer has been very responsive to any issues that have arisen. If you are on a budget and prefer not to subscribe long-term, even a month’s subscription will benefit hugely.

Great time saver
Amazed at how quickly the app reads thru DNA matches and finds Common Ancestors. It had a recent glitch but the developer appears to have it resolved.
Not working, no support
It appears this app stopped working after ancestry updated their website. I emailed the developers a week ago and have not gotten a response, and nothing has changed in the app. The app will no longer find common ancestors and doesn’t seem to be loading any tree information when you load matches. I think one of the main issues is that an end longer has pages of matches, but instead it just keeps loading matches in batches on the same page. The app doesn’t seem to know how to manage this or get any data from the matches. Don’t waste your money at this point, the app is useless.

Response from developer
Version 2.3.2 of DNA2Tree has resolved the issues that occurred due to changes at Ancestry. Everything is back up and running again.
Disappointed
Developer should make clear — up front and in bold letters — that this app only works if one has a paid Ancestry.com account.
What a waste.

Disappointed
It was not explained that you have to have a paid Ancestry account to use the app. I paid for a month subscription for this app and it’s now wasted. Since I’m able to see all my DNA matches on Ancestry without a paid account I did not think it would affect the app.
Response from developer
The pedigree trees for DNA Matches are only available when you have a paid Ancestry account.
Pretty slick: efficient & quick
Now I have clusters that I will spend weeks checking out: that’s good.
