Since this app only has one extremely negative and frankly rather unhinged review, I thought I'd add my personal experience with this banking app. Now I'm not a power user, but I have used this app once per month for past 2yrs to perform digital check deposits and to check acct balances. Contrary to the other reviewer claiming the app is glitchy and lacking basic functionality, for instance the other reviewer claiming you can't check acct balances, well this IS NOT my experience. Like I said, I use this app monthly to make physical check deposits & to examine acct balances. The app isn't visually stunning, but it's completely functional. And it hasn't crashed once for me. So this "glitchy" claim isn't my experience... even on an older iPhone 13 running the latest version of iOS in late 2024. Now if you're trying to perform other functions like Online Bill Pay or Loan Management, I can't speak to that since I don't use those functions. But an Online Bill Pay feature is there... just like any other banking app. And I would assume it works no different than Chase or Well Fargo's Bill Pay feature. So the "lacking functionality" claim is also false. So what are the negatives I've personally experienced with this app? Well only two. A one of them was fixed about 6-8mo's ago. My 1st issue is the inability to download physical *.pdf copies of my previous bank statements via the smartphone app. You simply can't. You can't even enter an email address and instruct the app to email a *.pdf copy your statement. If you need to download a physical copy of your past statements, you MUST log into the actual WEBSITE using a web browser (either on a PC/Laptop/or mobile web browser like Safari... ONLY THEN can you can download physical copies of prior statements. IMO this is dumb. Your statements are avail. for download, but this task can't be performed via the app - only via the website. Like I said... dumb! My 2nd issue (which is NOW FIXED) involved digital check deposits being rejected for some unknown reason. By this I'm referring to the user taking a photo of the physical check for virtual/digital deposit. The app would randomly reject deposited checks and provide an unhelpful error message, leaving me wondering WHAT EXACTLY was the problem?? Eventually I figured out the app was performing some kind of OCR (optical character recognition) on the scanned check, but the error checking algorithm was being WAY OVERLY AGGRESSIVE and rejecting deposits. So say you deposited a check for $577.11. The app was performing OCR error detection on the numerical check AMOUNT field only. It wasn't performing OCR error checking on the line where you spell out (in English words) the check amount... So if the check's amount wasn't written in SIMPLE PRINT, like if someone used flourishes in their numerals (like crossing their "7's" or "1's" w/ a "T", or slashing their "0's"), then the error checking would freak-out and reject the deposit. It was a huge PITA that drove me batty. Many times I'd have to make our HOA tenants rewrite their checks b/c the app wouldn't accept their handwriting. But like I said, as of early/mid 2024, this problem was rectified. I think OCR error detection was completely removed. No more rejected deposits because of imperfect handwriting thank goodness. In short, this app performs most Basic tasks you'd expect from a banking app... make digital check deposits, schedule online bill payments, verify current acct balances & cleared transactions, and change security password. The ONLY GLARING feature missing? You can't download pdf's of prior bank statements through the phone app. You MUST login to the actual website for this. The app is stable. It's never crashed on me. As for the other reviewer ranting about Old National Bank requiring extensive identity verification BEFORE granting him/her online access to their acct after being locked out??? WELL.... GOOD!!!! THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE!!! Hey BUDDY, it's called SECURITY! It's called protection from IDENTIFTY THEFT and FRAUD! Old National requiring you provide extensive proof of identify BEFORE granting online access to your MONEY is how it SHOULD BE! I'd be more worried if they didn't. Jeez. Talk about an unhinged hot-take concerning security!
