Love the box game but the iPhone version freezes up
I want to buy eggs but when I tap on the lay eggs box nothing happens - it thinks I want to buy food. I’ve gotten out of the game and come back in, but still frozen. For $10 this should at least work. Playing against “Automa” is fun only because it’s fun to play the game. My side is the same as for the board game, but my Automa opponent plays by different rules. “He”never has to buy eggs or food - so wins every time. Love the game, but it’s currently stuck!
Overall, I have had a really great experience with this app, it’s beautiful and pretty easy to understand. I’ve played custom online games a few times and haven’t had any issues, but on one of my current games, it is stuck on an AI player. We have tried to restart the app from different devices/players and nothing seems to work. Any advice?Show lessThe Last City
Good Game, Okay App
The app is a bit shaky. Upon launch it usually takes tapping the "online" button 20-30 times before it actually activates. This has been the case for months.
There is no feedback that the button is unavailable for use yet or that it becomes available for use, which is incredibly frustrating. Replicated on Mac, iPad and iPhone so theres no escaping. Love the game but it has a bad bug
My husband and I have have enjoyed playing several online games together. On several occasions the app indicated that my husband had 46 hours left to play his turn and when he went to take his turn the game abruptly ended and said that he didn’t play his turn in time. We lost the whole game, which was almost over. A lot of time and effort wasted. Reluctant to start another round because it might just crash again before we finish it.Show lessJamie62info
Great game but flaky programming and poor tech support
Wingspan itself is a great strategy game, but this version has many functionality problems. Sometimes the number of turns remaining does not display properly and even increases between turns. Sometimes the game abruptly ends even though the final round hasn’t yet happened. It often crashes at the final score screen right when you click on the button to save or discard the match. These errors were not present in earlier versions of the game, but have become persistent annoying bugs that seem to be getting worse.
Since the game developer has no tech support or contact method, leaving this text in the review is way to get their attention.Show lessrfgfdc
Super buggy - unfortunate
I love the board game and was thrilled to find the app. But it takes all the fun out of playing because the app is so buggy. I’ve had three games with a friend ruined in the past week - two that got stuck on an AI player that wouldn’t play, and just now one where my very last move won’t go through, the app crashes every time. Even in games where I don’t get stuck indefinitely and get to finish, the game constantly crashes. Over and over. I really wish it were better, but at this point I need to take a break because it’s so frustrating. Hopefully they find some folks to fix the never-ending kinks.Show lessroadrunnerrisky
Coding errors
I enjoy playing the game on my iPad. I have noticed what must be coding errors and know of no means other than this review to report them. 1. In several games when the goal for the round is simply the number of birds in a habitat, I notice that the quantity of an opponent’s birds decreases from one turn to another. I don’t understand how it’s possible for this to happen. It could if it was the number birds with egg, but not when goal is simply the number of birds. 2. When scoring a round it’s possible to see progress toward future goals for all players. However it can be misleading because one opponent often has zero birds toward a future goal but at the end of the first turn, might have way more birds than is possible to gain in one turn.Show lessBadger317
Latest version has major bugs with “once between turns”
Overall we love the game, but we have had two games completely crash since the latest update with a “9002” error when a “once between turns” bird was activated late in the game. We are playing 5 player games so there can be a lot of interaction there, especially at the end of round. Only had a few games here and there crash over the previous few months, so something is definitely buggy with this latest release!Show lessRealMcCoy1211
Fantastic game, but recent bugs
This is a contender for my favorite board game of all time, and the digital adaptation has been fantastic — until now. The game (with European expansion) began developing a series of bugs just yesterday (for instance, my # of remaining actions decreases although I haven’t taken a turn, and the app force closes at the end of every game now). I haven’t seen this many bugs since I was a beta tester for the European expansion. Unfortunately, it is unplayable with the actions bug as it is, and I am very disappointed as my sons and I probably play this 10-15x per week. I am eager for the glitches to be resolved and will restore a 5-star rating once they are.Show lessOspreye
The last update ruined the game!!
I got this app when it first came out. I’ve been obsessively playing ever since. Unfortunately, the new update had rendered the game unplayable. The first game I set up with a friend crashed every time I tried to take a turn. Eventually we figured out we had the same exact starting hand! Next time I tried to start a game it wouldn’t let me because it said I had 10 open games, I only had 7. Now trying to start another game with my partner. Won’t show up for him. He starts one with me, but it won’t show up for me. Before the latest update the game occasionally glitched for me. Now, it’s unplayable. SO FRUSTRATING!!! Especially given this app and it’s expansions are NOT cheap. But clearly the software is.Show lessSaratisima
