Glassboxx is solid and useful

The quality of this app has improved greatly since I first began using it.
I like the ability to set the number of columns per page and the font size for readability.
You can even customize settings for background that are separate from the global Iphone settings.

As easy to use as Kindle

Needs web connection

Says it can be downloaded and used remotely. This isn’t true. I downloaded a book and the minute I’m underground and want to open it I can’t. 😤😤

To access your eBook offline you will first need to make sure the eBook is downloaded in the app- simply open the eBook in the Glassboxx app on your device. After this, if you would like to access your eBook offline in the future, log in to the app while connected to the internet and then you can switch your device to aeroplane mode or to an offline setting while still remaining able to access the eBook.

Great reader app

Great reader app, like the ability to highlight and add notes and log them.

Non-functional

Downloaded this for access to one book that publisher only made available e-book form through the app. Was unable to access the book, and nearly a month after reporting this to their support, there’s no solution or update. Buggy, typos in the FAQ, clearly sketchy backend - as someone working in software, I have no idea how a developer lets this get released.

No downloads showing

No download was showing when I opened the Glassboxx app but after contacting customer support it all got sorted out quickly.

DON’T USE! Horrible App!

Bought an ebook which won’t download. Customer help is nonexistent. Now I’ve paid for a book that I can’t read! Unless you like being screwed, pick something else. ANYTHING ELSE!

Basic functions you would expect aren’t on this app

I was forced to use this app for a travel book I wanted. The app won’t do basic things like zoom. So all the maps in the book are worthless. Pathetic app.

Awful app

How Glassboxx managed to convince some publishers to go with them as the e-book option is beyond me... They clearly did not test the app themselves before signing up. Beyond the UI being overall terrible, the simples things like deciding the size of the app window does not work.... There are two options, either let it cover your entire screen, or let it take up a tiny corner making it impossible to read... If you want to have a digital notebook and your book side by side, then you'll need to sit 5cm awat from your screen to read the text... You cannot enlarge it to cover half your screen.

Awful

Glassboxx is an app that allows you to take a book you’ve paid for and read it in such a basic, terrible, unusable way that you’ll wonder why you bothered to buy it in the first place.

I’ve been a supporter of books through the platform Unbound pretty much since they started. Their embrace of this shoddy product, instead of simply giving you the readable file for the book you’ve backed so you can read it on your own device in your own way, guarantees I’ll never be supporting anything through them again.

Hello Stephen - the ereader has a great list of features from annotations through to setting background colours and changing font size. Some book formats if they are fixed format or PDF may not be able to leverage all those features.
