Latest update killed the app

The latest update rendered all three music services buttons (Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer) on the Library tab unresponsive. Unable to login even after reinstalling the app.

Killer App! (Recent Update)

Thank you for increasing the functionality of the SteamMagic app! (Thank you for NOT Discontinuing it As Well!)

Improvements like such makes me want to upgrade my Cambridge Audio gear to the brand’s even more potent lineup!

Thanks Guys! 👍👍

Works well but updates like this could be more customer friendly

It’s been working well for a few years but this morning there was a message telling me improvements had been made and I needed to reconfigure my presets. I basically just use Qobuz through this app, and this morning it would not play any music ‘Failed to add to Queue’ was the only help given.

If anyone else finds this, it’s because you have been signed out of Quobz and Quobz has been removed and needs to be added again. Strangley I could still browse the Qobuz library and select music to play.

Better help should be provided when such breaking changes are made. It’s 2 years since I configured my device. I’m a registered user with Cambridge Audio but never received any notification of the upcoming change.

Audio spec removed!

The latest update no longer shows the audio spec of albums when searching within Qobuz. This is such a shame and I’m sure everyone would hope this could be reverted to how it was before. Why would this be changed?

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for contacting us, and apologies that you've been inconvenienced. This update has fundamentally changed how our players access built-in streaming services so, along with many improvements, there have been some other changes. We'll work on replacing this information as soon as we can, thanks for your patience while we go through that process. Thanks for putting your trust in our brand. Kind regards, Cambridge Audio

Absolute Garbage

What absolutely garbage’s this app is. After buying an iPad for Hi-fi streaming with stream magic and my cxnv2, you have zero integration. No Amazon music also! So disappointing .

Updated: after deleting and reinstalling the radio options reappeared

Updating previous review now that I can access the radio stations again. It is an OK app. Not much else to say! Thanks for the responsive help

Staggeringly bad

I have a Cambridge Evo 75 and connectivity is provided via the Stream Magic App. My iPhone will not connect. I reset the Evo and connected via my iPad. I thought great finally connected. I went to the iPhone app and you guessed it, no connection. We are just about to renovate and I be dumping this amp for a Naim. I should have paid the extra in the first place.

Response from developer

Hi, we're sorry to hear that our product hasn't met with your expectations. Can you make sure that the Streammagic app has permission to access the 'Local Network' under its page on the general iOS settings page on the iPhone. If this isn't the cause, please drop us an email with the iOS versions of the iPad and iPhone, I'm sure we can resolve the issues you're seeing. Thanks for your patience, Cambridge Audio

Never works, cannot see player or network 80% of the time

This app is garbage, I regret buying my CXN v2, I have replaced my Router, new wifi module, hardwired, hardwire over power line adapter, tech support is useless. I wish I would have bought another ecosystem. STAY AWAY

This App has gotten much better

This App has really been streamlined and made much easier to navigate and use in the last year or so. I primarily use it with my 851N connected to an external hard drive containing about 5 terabytes of music. The user interface is intuitive and the ability to see artwork on the App makes moving around a massive music library relatively simple.

The one feature I would love to see added is the ability to edit folder structures and file names on the drive from the App. Now, when I find a subfolder in the wrong spot or a song that is out of order, I need to disconnect the hard drive and reconnect it to my PC to edit the drive. I know, that’s a first-world problem, but if I don’t make a note of what needs to be fixed, I’ll forget. Thanks Cambridge Audio

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for this great feedback, we're really pleased to hear you're enjoying your 851N and the updates we've been making to the app. Thanks also for your suggestions. We've always been a little worried about the idea of making changes to any USB drives attached to the player as for many users this is a precious, and carefully curated music collection and we'd hate to disrupt that! That said, we'll definitely take your ideas to the team for discussion and see if there's a way that we could offer this feature. Kind regards, and happy listening, Cambridge Audio

Clunky

I love my CXN V2, it sounds great. But trying to stream music and video from my iPhone through this ap is the worst. If you start it up and stick with one source it works ok. But trying to go back and forth between airplay and Spotify makes it shutdown and stop working, like every time.
