Camera quality is great, app needs some work

The app causes my (brand new) iPhone to run very hot. I only noticed this when I had my phone out of its case, but it gets very warm when reviewing live or recorded video.

These cameras record fantastic quality video, they work best if they are set to record 24/7 with a 256GB SD Card. The app will flag motion so it’s easy to locate and review if needed, but the notifications are not the best. Despite reducing the motion sensitivity, things like rain, snow, insects, etc.. will set it off.

With some finessing, the defender cameras have great potential!

Way to sensitive

My only complaint is that the camera is way to sensitive even on the lowest setting. You will get way to many notifications in a snow fall or heavy rain. Wish when you set it to the human setting that’s what it would sense

Alert messages

Regardless of setting alert messages are sent as soon as something is moving in front of the camera. Could be the rain, snow, a spider, anything. Annoying, really. “Will push message only when human is detected” is not working. Im very desapointed, product is not as advertized. I was hoping new software update will maybe take care of that but that never happened.

Great security options

Had the defender security cameras for a while now, however just installed one 2/3/24 should’ve done it sooner. Definitely recommend this product will be buying more.

Camera good, app not!

I have to log on to the app constantly. Also, whenever I click to see video after getting a notification, I get a play error atleast 50% of the time. Not at all happy with this app.

This camera stinks

Constantly lose connectivity and when you want to reconnect it has this ridiculous routine of having to authenticate the device with this chirping noise using your iPhone . This means that everytime I want to reconnect I have to climb the ladder up to the camera and hold the phone close to camera so they can “talk” to each other. Ludicrous!

Hi! I am sorry to hear about a connection issue with the Guard 2K WIFI camera. Please make sure you are using a 2.4 GHz WIFI network only. The camera will not connect to a 5 GHz or a continuous dual-band network. We would also recommend testing the signal strength where the camera is mounted. Rain Drops

Raindrops seem to land on the lens and trips the notifications so annoying i have 43 notifications in 30mins haha
and not true 2K yah the size of the video might be big but quality is lacking with my iphone 13 has better quality because it's obvious that quality always first and zoom in for details so much more important than just a big vid size, quality stays the same when blowing up a video or zooming in on a video file

Great so far

My wife and I bought four of these camera’s so far so good. Installed all four our selves. Just a bit of lag as we opted not to hard wire right to modem, we did some research and found out that this is normal for cameras that are not hard wired to the modem. I was a little worried that it would not be able to pick up the wifi signal as the cameras are in the outside corner of the house, I was wrong as all cameras pick up the signal. We are very impressed with the quality of the cameras. We are still adjusting the sensitivity of the cameras. Would highly recommend these cameras. Very clear images good quality easy to use. 👍
