  • Okay, but needs improvement, and be careful with your info

I started using this app to help maneuver through some bigger cities I’d never been to before and was making deliveries to on my last trip. Overall it was okay, but more times than I’d like to say the maps gave really inaccurate information for clearance heights which wasted my time as I had to reroute and find my way around some tricky areas with which I was able to make the clearance. I also used a separate phone number from my usual one to register and in the weeks since I started using the app I have come to find they sold my info and I’ve been getting on average about 3-6 calls a day from various unwanted solicitors related to information given in the app and for trucking companies I never had any association with or would have my information for any other reason calling about bogus jobs and other nonsense.

  • Great app, still some improvements needed.

The app is easy to navigate and provides lots of info relevant to a trucker. The latest enhancements are a welcome upgrade.

Some of the color schemes and font sizes could be better: white on orange for the dark screen??? Please make that black on orange. Also the font size for the miles to the next turn, please make that twice as large. Finally 6 clicks to change from light to dark display is too much, please make that a one click option on the main screen.

  • Very satisfied, but…

I’m very satisfied with the app. It gives me all info I need to complete my route in a timely manner. But the multiple stops feature needs a little tweaking. Before Hammer, I used Mapquest & even though it was getting the job done, there was no commercial vehicle option so I found myself improvising quite a bit throughout the day. With Hammer (as a Hazmat driver) you can enter the specifics of your particular load & classifications of the materials you’re hauling & it automatically selects the most effective route for you. Also, you can add if the place you’re delivering to has a truck entrance for the benefit of other delivery drivers that are also going there for the 1st time.
My only problem with the app is that the multiple stops feature is not as user friendly as Mapquest. You can get used to it & make it work for you, but like I did, you might have to work on it at home like I did, until you get the hang of it. If they make it a little bit more user friendly, it’s definitely a 5 stars app.

  • Not only for CDL drivers, also U-Haul drivers

I’m from Florida, currently living in Long Island, NY and had to rent a 20’ U-Haul for the drive back. I was unaware that the bridges on parkways here are too low and U-Haul trucks are restricted on them. After some research, I found this app which is above and beyond what you expect from a free app. I actually wish the maps app on my iPhone was as complete as this app and had as many features as it does. It got me out of NY safely and I highly recommend it, no way I would have found my way out of Long Island without help.

  • Truck driver

This is the only app in the market that is accurate it has lots of features that a truck driver needs to be safe and not to get lost where most app will do key factor is the hub right where you can see it and weather report I can’t say enough about this app it’s totally amazing I know I be only had it about two weeks now and I have compared it with garmin and rand McNally not to mention other apps like google maps which is not trucker friendly and Waze you spend too much time pushing buttons which is not safe in a commercial vehicle I’m still working with it and believe it or not it has not let me down at least not yet again this app deserves a five star just because so far it doesn’t stand up to other devices and apps good job .update I have notice that at times it’s it fails to calculate times to distance so let me say this if they can fix this only glitch that I see and tested I still use and rely on this incredible app .

  • Trying to figure a route out

Needing to get from our race teams shop in hamden ct to lime Rick park race track this app gives me two routes we can take . A green route and a blue route to pick from .
The bargaining part of the blue route is faster but half way there the green route is faster .
I can’t seam to just combine making my own route out of both .
So it looks like half way there I will have to stop and then change the route from one to the other?
It gives me a two hour and a two is hour drive time depending on what route I pick but having been going to lime rock countless times every year for 30 years I can make the drive combining both routes in 1.5 hours .
If I don’t stop and change the routing half way thru our trip it’s not just going to take an extra half hour but it’s also going to put me on when we call misery hill ! It’s a very steep grade two mile long down hill going and a two mile up hill on the way back .
This app needs to have it so you can aliterate the routes and combine two or more to your own route you know is faster and better .

  • Not ready for prime time

Hey it would be great to have a truck or navigation app to compete with Trucker Path but this is not it. Maybe in 2023 it will be ready but there are too many issues to list here but the biggest one was today I used it to pick up a load in Green Bay Wisconsin and it ended my route on the freeway. No kidding. I thought I was there and left me. Thank goodness google was able to get me the last mile to the shipping dock doors. Also, I find the orange interface just is not a great color to look at all day. Best of luck, I hope they get this fixed but I would not trust it if you are tight on your clock.

  • Love this map app

As a trucker it’s convenient accurate and most reliable during tough times. I drive local but do regional on occasion so I don’t have much use for a trucker GPS device, this however is the perfect substitute. I have other trucker maps that aren’t as up to date with the maps while this one is and it provides the most quick route option for me. With turn by turn directions so I I’m not guessing which turn to take makes me feel confident driving.

  • The best GPS to use in the city.

Making deliveries in Chicago is very difficult when using a trailer that’s 13’6” and 48’ long. This app makes it easy to find your way around a city where every street literally has viaducts that are too low for you to get around. It’s very useful and takes the stress of turning your trailer into a giant sardine can away. In my experience it’s always been accurate on the bridge hight and weight restricted roads.

  • Navigation

The app works but the direction line is hard to read and it has showed me 3 times to take one route and the switch and caused me to miss my turn. Any city like Atlanta or Wisconsin where you have to navigate thru different directions it’s trash! Has too much on the display and takes to much time to focus while you driving to see the right direction to go and when you do it still send you down the road in the wrong direction. And it always asking about truck stops and if they full or empty. It gets annoying when you trying to get some where. I gave it 3 because it works on open roads but in cities google blows this app away.
