  • Great Game

Very realistic. They did a great job on this. But….recently when trying to adjust from left and right for aiming while putting, the game thinks I am putting and takes a stroke. Very frustrating. Also once in a while when taking a regular stroke, the player completely muffs the shot. Also very frustrating. Not sure if these are programmed in there or some problem with the programming. But otherwise….very enjoyable game. Great job.

  • Clap Hanz Golf

Worthy of a five star review despite the game’s flaws, glitches, and inconsistencies, or maybe some of that is due in part to my internet connection, or maybe it’s because I’m using an older iPad mini. I’d pay $5 a month just to play this one game. Mina fizikov is so cute, she reminds me of somebody. I usually use Taiyo as my go to player, his specialty is hitting out of the rough, but all characters have their unique qualities and skills, it’s easy to level up the player and enhance their skill set.

  • Fun and challenging golf game

Update: there is an issue with latency when using the shot power gauge that’s emerged after upgrading to iPhone 13 mini that occurs when using a controller. The hardware has only been available since 9/24 so a fix may require a software patch.

This game is a splendid looking, difficult but fair simulation of golf. Putting is extremely hard in this game as it should be, real golf is hard so a realistic golf game can’t be easy. The only suggestion I have for the developers is to possibly add novice, intermediate, and pro leaderboards in world tournament mode. If your playing with fully leveled up pro characters your distance off the tee makes putting/chipping irrelevant on the world tournament courses whereas novice characters have to chip/put because they don’t have the distance to hole out from the fairway. Essentially novices and pros are playing too completely different games so it doesn’t make sense to group them on the same leaderboard.

  • Hot Shots!

This game reminds me, in almost every respect, of Hot Shots Golf, which I had on my PS3 probably 10 years ago. If you’ve ever played that, there are only a few minor changes in this game to anticipate.

Controls on iPad are ok — but I still feel like there’s a trick I’m not getting for those perfect shots. (And, why *does* a curved shot go farther than a straight shot? This just doesn’t make sense.) Graphics are pretty much what I saw on the PS3. Gameplay modes are a bit different, and I’m not sure I like them. There are too many competitions where the prize is just a new outfit color, for example, and nothing more substantial to increase character strengths. Same goes for the world tournament, which is kind of a waste: the same person seems to win every week, and you get nothing for competing except your screen name on the board. If there were prizes (such as in the original Hot Shots game, like new clubs and balls), competing would be much more satisfying.

  • Not bad.. one major irritating factor

I haven’t been playing very long, so far I have 8 characters, somewhat leveled up. A good time killer, follows physics of golf approximately well, has nice graphics, overall a fun game. What absolutely destroys my enjoyment is when I switch to another window, even for just a moment, and switch back, on a random basis the game restarts. At tournaments this isn’t such a big deal, a lot of times the progress is saved and can be resumed relatively accurately from the place I was before switching. However, if in the survival mode, the progress is completely erased, and that’s very irritating. Honestly, it made me stop playing for a couple of days every time. Every time I pick up the game again after a few days, and get to the same situation where my progress is erased because the game restarts upon switching to another window, frustration mounts and I stop playing yet again. Chances are one of these days the frustration will surpass the enjoyment from the game and I’ll just end up erasing it altogether. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • Super Grindy and Impossible AI

Was really enjoying this game till level 5. The AI boss does not make mistakes and is almost impossible to pass. Plus there are a high number of characters that go against the boss, one mistake and you have to start the whole battle over. Becomes a grind at this point to progress. No other options to play besides general golfing. Score attack is like 9 rounds of golf with one player, while it improves stats doesn’t help in improving actual gameplay. No other methods to allow putting improvements. No way to practice swings as their is no practice mode which seems necessary since the ball goes in any direction depending on how you swipe your finger. No other fun options to play. Doesn’t necessarily get boring, just impossible to enjoy after a while.

  • This review is for the programmers

If it was your intention to build a game to have no fun and to annoy your users, my hat is off to you. This is not intended for anyone to enjoy, it’s only intention is to frustrate. Too much effort was put into all the useless screen graphics and the effort to make the game win. It’s just total B.S. Update Still one of the worst game ever. To prove it cheats, they added the ability to improve the play if you can get a good score. They have also added more annoying screen, you have to click through. If I could give this game a -5, I would be happy. They run the high scores up so high you can match them with all the obstacle they put in your way, therefore you can’t advance in the game because you can’t get any points. Because of this game I will not pay for arcade after the trial period runs out. This game is rigged nine way to Sunday.

This is a message to apple “I don’t like it that games like this can Id a user because they take out revenge on the users that is critical of their game by keeping them from getting any points “

  • Best golf game on iOS

Really glad to have found a robust golfing game with tons of contacts on the iOS finally. With tons of characters and courses i’ve been really enjoying this game of the course of a couple weeks.

I only have one really big issue and it’s a bug that’s been dogging me since I got the game. Semi frequently when I am trying to start a hole, after I click the golf cart button to get started, The game freezes on the course summary screen and I cannot play the game anymore. I have no way of fixing it on my end so I just have to wait and keep retrying the app until it gets fixed. I’ve been having a great time with this game but this one bug is starting to get extremely annoying.

  • Hole In One

This game is worth the Apple Arcade price by itself. Touch controls work well on iPad and mechanics allow to work your shots very well. Nine beautiful courses to play, each tougher than the last. Great cast of characters, each with their individual strengths and weaknesses, although their costumes are predictable.

So much to like here, offering hours of playability. Wish big “N” would have used this formula for their recent golf release. This one’s a winner.

  • Golf-ish: Needs Competition

UPDATE VERSION 1.1.2 - problems in previous version have cleared up. Glad to have a couple new players and levels, as well as the new game mode “World Tournament”. The Tournament is fun for seeing where you rank against other players, but that’s it - there are no rewards or experience points given for one’s final ranking. So, what’s the point of having the tournament if you can’t earn any reward for skill-based play? Also - there are still no new courses to discover - it’s a crime that there are, as yet, no links style courses available on the map, especially in Scotland, the home of golf. ================================ Clap Hanz Golf is - fine. It’s fun, for the short time you can play it on your own. It’s fine, for it’s decent, though not amazing physics. And - it’s finished, as I’ve already gone through all twelve levels and there is nothing left to do but wait for the Advanced golfers and courses I assume are on the way. In the absence of others to play here locally (local multiplayer is available), I’d love to be able to take on other players around the world. So - it’s golf. Sort of. It’s fun. It’s fine. It’s finished?
