Love the game! One small issue though…
Wanted to first and foremost say that this is my favorite game right now to play in my down time. Very well done and a lot of fun to play - especially on controller!
My only issue is sometimes I’m on the phone and playing the game, so I’ll go into the settings and turn all three volume bars down to zero so I can hear my call, and even with the sound at zero, I still hear wind/waves and birds very loudly when the sound should all be at zero.
Any way to fix it where, when sound is at zero, everything is actually muted?Show lessKlawgboi
Has Potential
Environmental physics are way off. I line up my drive with 0 wind from the tee and swipe completely straight and ball flies wherever. Move to the side to account for the wind. Or Swing a little harder due to wind coming straight at you and nothing works. I adjust my swing to hit it the exact distance to the whole accounting for wind, ground angle, if the ball is two deep in the terrain or sitting on top of the terrain and my attempt 95% of the time falls short. So make the adjustments next time and the ball flies way over the green and into the O.B. area. 3 stars for visual part of the game it looks great. But fix the elements that factor the ball flight please. It’s awful. And give an options to switch from 3 click swing or swipe.Show lessMrsMolette
Hot Shots is back baby!!!!
So, I have loved the franchise for years, it’s my favorite golf game of all time. I understand the name is different because Sony most likely owns the name, but this game is amazing. I was so stoked when I found this, and I was very hopeful it was similar to hot shots. Safe to say it not only looks the same, it plays great, best I’ve played on mobile.
I would say the distances are inconsistent based on the % meter, but maybe I just don’t have it quite figured out. It feels like I have to hit a powerful shot on long approaches when the yardage doesn’t indicate it should be necessary.
So far that is the only thing I have had an issue with, but highly recommend this game!Show lessfrdtihhoj
Swing and a Miss
I’ve played every “hot shots” game from clap hanz and this one suffers from the same issues as everybody’s golf ps4. Like the ps4 version even if you hit a perfect shot you have randomness determined by your control level. They also removed the 3 shot system which is the biggest mistake. Putting in the touch controls makes perfect shots even harder to hit and I’m not sure why you would want to control the left and right of your putt after you’ve already set it. A lot of confusing design choices. Another big fault of clap hanz is not taking any risks designing maps, they’ll all boring add in some crazy levels for fun. This is one of my favorite video game series please take these as critics and make a better game and release a sequel for ps5/series x.
Edit: after playing a ton more I’m changing my review to a 1 star. The control scheme and terrible physics are honestly unacceptable for a developer who have been making the same game for over 20 years. There also isn’t anything to tell you what the touch controls are or tutorials in the menus. They also took away the trick shots or “hot shots” when you would do a backspin and hit the flag pole. I have been a fan of Hot Shots and now Everybody’s Golf for some time- so to be surprised by this game and how well it maintains the magic of the former games!
The few things that keep me from 5 stars-
-let me customize UI- I will NEVER use the motion controls to look around... I would like to remove from my play screen
- I would LOVE the option to have traditional tap based shot controls as currently I NEVER use backspin as I find my shots accuracy suffers
- I would love to see more social options integrated. Like comparing scores with Games Center friends on all modes!
Can’t wait to see what awesome updates you will inevitability come up with!!
I am Klapping my Hanz for you guys- because you finally have me engaged in an Apple Arcade game for a significant amount of time! That and the game is AMAZING!!!

Man! I don’t want to age myself too much, but I have a been a fan of Hot Shots golf since pretty much the beginning. I’ve been playing the franchise off and on for years, and its great that it came to the iphone. And what an entrance! Having the same graphics, fun, quality, intuitive controls and depth I have come to expect from the Hot Shots series, the RPG elements and customization are much appreciated. I would keep an Apple arcade subscription if only for this game!!!Show lessjgibson82
HSG returns on Apple Arcade!
I spent countless hours enjoying the Hot Shots Golf series on my old PSP. I can’t believe the game series has been resurrected on Apple Arcade as Clap Hanz Golf and that it’s every bit as good as the old classics! The graphics and gameplay are terrific.
Like many others, I wish for online multiplayer and for the return of the 3-tap shot controls, if only as an option to the touch controls. But even without those features, what’s here is fantastic and definitely 5-star worthy.Show lessjinx90277
Outstanding
Clap Hanz has managed to produce a game that brings back a rush of nostalgia while at the same time taking the experience forward. It’s nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Tons of ways to play, great, colorful graphics and great controls. I’m running this on my “ancient” 2017 iPad Pro and it runs smooth as butter. There is literally nothing but great to be found here. This is a AAA title, and the kind of game that will help sell (and retain) Apple Arcade subscriptions. Notes - please leave the three button or three click swing mechanic buried in the past where it belongs. I am using a Bluetooth controller and it’s great! It took a minute to get used to, but now that I have, it is far superior to “tap tap tap.” I beg you, do not listen to those calling for it!Show lessWilcoghost

The Hot Shots franchise was one of my favorites on PS3. It was a pleasant surprise to find this title on Arcade and probably is one of the best games on a the service. Graphics are equivalent to current gen consoles. Touch controls are actually better than a controller. Swiping to swing a club just feels more nuanced and organic than with a controller. Love it. Love the bite sized tournaments which make it an ideal mobile game. However, I wish many of the challenges that you encounter in tournament can be set up as single events in gameplay options (close to cup, drive contest.) Also wish you had the option to choose one player to play an entire tournament. Overall, an amazing title that will keep me on Arcade for the foreseeable future. A great new game from a legendary developer
I’ve been a huge fan of the Everybody’s Golf games for a long time so seeing this pop up on Apple Arcade was very exciting. They have managed to make a game that feels very much like their classic titles while introducing some great mobile-oriented changes like a focus on shorter matches.
The one complaint I have is that they have replaced their traditional three click power meter swing mechanic with a more tactile touchscreen swing mechanic that reminds me of some of the Tiger Woods/PGA Tour games. It makes perfect sense on a touch screen and works decently well, but I really wish the old meter based swing mechanic was available as an option, especially for when I’m playing with a controller.
Overall this is not just a great mobile golf game, a great golf game in general. I’ll probably renew my Apple Arcade subscription based on this game alone.Show lessRaygan
