This is a typical G5 game with all the annoyances of G5 games. One thing that drives me crazy about their games is the way they put a bouncing hand on the hint button. Do they have to insult the user by assuming we're all too stupid to know we have hints available and can use them. That hand is not only annoying but distracting in a timed game. Then's there's the assemblers to finish collections that rarely show up. Stop pushing these games as free to play when if you don't pay you are left with lots of things unfinished. Also it would be nice in this game if they would let you finish one story at a time instead of throwing other things into the mix. Why even bother doing stories when you're bounced around so much you lose the thread of the story. I'll play this game for a while then delete it as too annoying as I have all the other G5 games I've tried. I truly do wish they'd tweak their formula.Show lessCatminder
Issues
I really enjoy this game. However, I am finding a couple of issues that have popped up. My progress is not being saved in the new asylum room. I worked my way through many levels, and when I returned to the app after sometime, it was like I never did anything at all. I started into the asylum again. I completed a few levels. I returned to the app after some time, and found that my progress had not been saved. Can someone help me with this issue?
Also, has there been a fix to the connection to G5 friends network lost? If there has been, I did not see it on the website. Thank you very much.Show lessEdrenner
Enjoying it.
The game is progressively harder. Best part is energy level is easy to manage and there are plenty of tools to help find things. Problem for me is you cannot buy more with coins or jewels. I wish you could. Makes it more enjoyable. Can you please not distract player with pop up messages, particularly in match three.. Also that timer is annoying especially when it gets close to end.
Thanks for the story line. Actually learned a bit that i had not gotten from reading it before. Beautiful graphics, music is nice and not too loud. Overall a great game.Show lessPuzzle2me
Great Game
I love this game! I’ve been playing for almost 2 years and it’s very enjoyable, I do get frustrated with some of the screens, if you have not played them in a while it’s almost impossible to find everything in the time allowed. That’s irritating and I quit playing for a week or two, harder to memorize the places and where everything is. It’s really hard to progress through the game unless you play it everyday, I’m a nurse so that’s not always possible. Would be nice if you would make collection items easier to obtain to progress through the game. Otherwise good game and beautiful pictures!!Show lessZoogletg

When changes are made, sure would like to know about them, either at the time of update or right before. This last update, that started the new challenge, was a total wipeout! It had weird flags on all the playing areas, none of which worked. You couldn’t get into them. The next day, they finally worked. Now we’ve lost our ability to send requests to our friends. Why??!! When I wanted to contact you to ask what was going on & for how long, the ONLY way was to fill out a million question page about my device technicals, none of which I know! I use an iPad. That’s the limit of my knowledge. So you’re getting my questions here…sigh… And I do expect a reply of some kind. I’ve spent a fortune with you so I know you can contact me. Beautiful! Challenging without too much frustration
The developers have listened to comments and made it possible to get free crystals. You can play this game without spending money, but the Easter update has enticed me to spend for the premium library card and chances for more rewards. I also think it’s only fair to spend sometime since the game is completely free. What’s really needed to succeed are friends who play daily and send gifts. It’s also nice to chat with them occasionally. The ability to choose to look for hidden objects or play Match-3 makes the game more interesting than Secret Society.Show lessNewFan602
Review
I love this game but have had a lot of problems with it. Tech support usually helps pretty quick but this last problem I have not so quick. I finish a quest & it says that I can finish the assembly but that’s not the case. When I click on the location two of the assembly pieces that I’m missing aren’t even showing up as being able to be found there. So I’m stuck because I can’t assemble what’s required to move on in that book. It seems the further along in the game I get the harder it is. I’m am so close to removing this game & your other game I play Jewels of the Wild West because they have gotten so hard I only get frustrated because I can’t beat the levels & close out of the games. I thought the object of these games were to relax you & be enjoyable, they aren’t enjoyable if you only get frustrated because you can’t seem to beat them in order to move on. I know you are in the business to make money but in this economy im on a fixed income & can’t be spending money every time I play it to move on in the game.Show lesslilangelbear51

Although I enjoy the game and find the various graphics wonderful, when I get to “Journey to the West” first chapter, one of the items to be found was a modern looking mask, with silk fabric and sewn in straps. The storyline is that there is a volcano so they’re seeking a mask. Dude. Please. In ancient times masks don’t look like that. People wrapped their faces with clothes like in all sandy desert areas. This mask is shaped as a modern pandemic mask - and to use it only in the Chinese book chapter - it’s utterly racist. This continued association of anything pandemic to the Chinese culture is racist. By drawing a pandemic mask in association to Chinese culture, the makers of this game is implanting or reinforcing many people’s subconscious association of the pandemic blame to China - thus all Asians. It’s a very ignorant thing to do as all humans have our losses and griefs from the pandemic. You think those Chinese people who had to deal with the early days of massive death and being in the dark about how to treat COVID-19 - you think they wanted the pandemic? Being a doctor of Asian origin who worked through the pandemic, this is offensive - the ignorance, discrimination, and lack of compassion is astounding. It’s hurtful to anyone with Asian background. Really enjoyed this game till I reached level 48. I can rarely solve investigations or win match 3 now (without tools, earned or bought). All the interesting and colorful books I’ve been able to open are at the double item investigation level (too hard without enough time) and the match 3 options are too confusing (without enough explanation on how to unlock or access parts of game board). Sometimes there’s a glitch where I click on object and game does not acknowledge it - I lose the game and have wasted energy. Also the pause during a game bumped me out completely (lost game and wasted hard to come by energy points). Without any wins lately, I play the game less and less. I'M UPDATING MY REVIEW: I ALWAYS DO THE UPDATES BUT NOW IT CRASHES WHEN I WATCH VIDEOS TO EARN GEMS, TODAY I WAS WATCHING A VIDEO, IT CRASHED AND WHEN I GOT BACK I LOST "10" GEMS!! I WANT MY GEMS BACK, PLEASE! AND WHY DO IT HAVE TO "LOAD" YOUR GAME EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS?? NO OTHER GAME MAKES YOU GO THROUGH THIS, I'M GETTING FRUSTRATED WITH THIS GAME!! I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE 5 STARS, CAN'T DO IT OR WON'T, NOT YET! At first I liked the game, it’s fast paced but I would like to see an option for a relaxed mode. Also (as for some older people) it would be better to have more time to find some items because they are a bit hidden and difficult to see. It’s hard to follow sometimes so I’ve got to where I just pick what I want to do 🤷♀️, I don’t always get anywhere but I try to earn some kind of rewards.
