  • Highly recommend

I was using my old bank Huntington Bank for years, had a laggy website, bad international payments, annoying notifications and alerts. My account would constantly be locked and put under review for making payments over a few thousand dollars. Now with Mercury, I can send and receive money so much easier, very fast support. An incredible user interface and experience the CEO and CFO responded to my Twitter DM‘s. I’m incredibly impressed and plan on using this for the rest of my life and am begging my other founder friends to use it.

  • The perfect bank for any startup

We’ve been using Mercury as our bank for our startup tea business, and their tools are seamless, their customer care is extraordinary. I wouldn’t have expected so much love from a bank.
  • Bad experience and terrible customer service

The app is good, however the customer service is terrible, they don't have a phone number and they don't respond to email, if you have any problem with your account, your business will go bankrupt because they don't care about you, your funds will be frozen for a long time without any explanation or contact from them. Run away from this bank!

  • Pathetic customer support

I’m now at the end of my second day of not receiving help. Mercury customer service is slow and unhelpful. There’s no phone number to call. I get one email a day, if I’m lucky. I’m simply trying to link Mercury to my Chase credit card, and Mercury’s verification is failing every time. Customer support emailed me a list of generic instructions, all of which I’d tried before reaching out to them in the first place. I’m frustrated with my experience with Mercury and don’t want you to fall into the same trap.

  • Almost TOO secure. Challenges using account

Look, I get it. We want our banking to be secure. That’s top priority. But can it go too far? Is it possible to actually make it less convenient for the User? My current answer to that question is: yes. I am finding it frequently difficult to simply login into my Mercury account. I use multiple devices and it feels like I have to login and verify on every single one every single time. Further, I just received a new credit card and I’m trying to link my Mercury account so I can pay the balance. The verification process included an email from Mercury that I had to open. Clicking this link, I was greeted with a nice “verification unsuccessful“ message. My only option to continue was to email Support. And we know how that goes. Days of waiting. so in the end, we have an amazing banking app that is weighed down with almost too intensive of security, to the point where it’s so secure it’s locking me out of my own banking experience.

  • Don’t use this bank/service

Be warned, after going thru the long and tenuous cycle of creating an account, uploading all my LLC docs and providing all my personal information. These guys emailed me back saying they could not make me an account! What a waste of time, energy, and or course I want them to guarantee me that my data is secure. They require a 2AF signup, that was nearly impossible to figure out.
Very unhappy, if your reading this, HARD PASS!

  • The worst bank I have ever had

Mercury bank is absolutely the worst bank I've ever had in my life.

If you were depositing a check, don't expect to see it anytime soon. They will use the full 10 business days to review any money deposited.

Their customer service is nonexistent. If you want a response from customer service, there is absolutely no phone number to call them and if you send an email don't expect to hear anything back from at least two days.

You were essentially giving your money away with little and return.

I have had mercury bang for a little over four months and have had nothing but trouble since the beginning.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY do not recommend this bank or there app. Even there "trust this computer for 30 days" button when logging in does not work.

  • Beware: can’t handle international transactions

They have Byzantine requirements for receiving international wires. If the sending bank doesn’t follow them exactly, you’re money gets tied up in limbo for weeks (and counting). Even when the info is filled out correctly, it takes much longer than the stand 3-5 business days. Their help is spotty at best and non-responsive at worst. If your business needs to receive money internationally, avoid them like the plague.

  • Horrid company - fake “bank”

Random account lockdowns with zero explanation and no ability to contact them directly via telephone or any live means. Everything is via email - they will ask for the most random information and have zero justification.

When I hit a wall and explained they couldn’t possibly do this as a regulated bank, their response was “we’re not a bank” - it makes it super shady and realize this is why you want to bank with a local brick and mortar institution.

  • Deposits take too long

It consistently takes over a week for my deposited checks to show up in my account. This is impractical and a huge downside. Other banks take a couple days on average.

I also had trouble linking Mercury to my personal checking account at Beneficial State. Customer service said it's some problem with the API between Plaid and Beneficial, and they can't do anything.

The rest has been a generally positive experience. Setup wasn't exceptionally hard compared to business accounts I've set up at other banks. Interface is sleak and easy to use, and includes a few unique features I enjoy. I like having both virtual and real debit cards, and the fact that I can create multiples of them. I can also automatically route a specific percentage of funds between accounts, and set thresholds for each. Customer service has also been pleasant and pleasantly responsive.

I'll stick with them for now, but hopefully they shrink down their deposit time.
