I also like the show they do which the normal app doesn’t have. ### 2/5 — If ypu live near the ohio river do not expect an accurate forcast *2026-03-04, version 6.1.401* I use the WFIE First Alert Weather app regularly because I want a reliable local source, but the overall experience has become increasingly difficult to deal with. I live in 47714, and the weather never matches where I live. I would appreciate money being invested into equipment that would allow localized neighborhood weather. Don't we deserve it? ### 2/5 — Too many ads and it takes too long to load *2026-02-07* I use the WFIE First Alert Weather app regularly because I want a reliable local source, but the overall experience has become increasingly difficult to deal with. The number of advertisements feels excessive and often gets in the way of simply checking current conditions or opening the radar quickly. The app also takes a long time to load, and when weather is changing fast, waiting for screens to open makes it much less useful than it should be. While using the app, the screen frequently jumps or shifts unexpectedly, which causes accidental taps and makes it hard to read information without losing your place. Beyond that, the app often feels unstable. There are times when it freezes, lags, or needs to be restarted entirely, and some features such as radar or widgets do not always load correctly. The interface has also become cluttered and harder to navigate after updates, with overlays and radar visuals that can be difficult to read quickly. Performance problems seem to appear after certain updates as well, which creates an inconsistent experience from one version to the next. Altogether, these issues make the app feel unreliable, especially when you need fast and clear weather information during time-sensitive situations. This app has strong potential as a trusted local weather resource, which is why these problems stand out so much. I'm not sure who is in charge of this app, but I will not use it simply because of these advertisements. If you're going to allow that on your app, then you can't be trusted... I need to feel safe using your app. ### 3/5 — A couple glitches *2025-06-03* The app crashes if you try to engage before it loads completely. Also, these obviously spam advertisements that take up a lot of room on these pages, are a real problem. I'm assuming they're Google ads, and you don't know what they show, because it's random, but it's all clickbait and scams. Do you really want to be connected to ads like that? Very cluttered looking too, with the live feed buried towards the bottom. You’re trying to focus on protecting yourself and your family from incoming violent storms, and you have to deal with it, unfortunately. You know that iPhone game that you want love, but it’s just impossible because of all the ads?? That’s the experience you get here. Normally it’s a 5 star app, but on my iPad version, the “live” radar section hasn’t worked for about 2 months… I think that was the last update. It currently only shows “Future” radar. Still works great on my iPhone!!! 4/2/25 ### 1/5 — Radar 3/3/02025 - 5:35pm *2025-03-31, version 5.17.511* Not sure what was going on with 14 First Alert’s Radar but pretty thankful the weather wasn’t as bad as they said it would be. At 5:35pm, WFIE’s Radar App showed the storms had passed and in reality there was another round right above us that was going to hit us. Hopefully WFIE gets this fixed because we have more storms coming the Wednesday night. People depend on WFIE for weather radar and when it’s NOT EVEN CLOSE to be accurate people can get killed! Please look into this and fix whatever occurred! ### 1/5 — Last Alert 14Wfie *2025-02-17, version 5.17.511* Never updated latest weather forecast. It will state it is a 5pm forecast but you start to watch the forecast only to find that it’s the 6 am weather forecast. ### 2/5 — The reason *2024-09-09, version 5.15.418* The reason for this is not just for the app but for the whole newscast too. We live in southern Muhlenberg county. When it comes to general weather and severe weather you seem to miss our community past Weir. We usually have to go to News channel 5 to see what is coming our way. I have always loved your station and have always counted on it. Since the update a month or two ago, every time to want to see something besides the article you are starting at, (you know USE the app) you have to watch an ad! I know that keeps it free blah blah but damn! Do I need to see the SAME (there is only the one ad btw) to keep the babies healthy? I got it! But I mean damn I want to see see what’s going on in my neighborhood, my state, my country, my world…..there’s 4 baby ads! And I might want to hear about more than just the very top thing….there’s 8! Weather? Special coverage about something? 10! C’mon people I can handle a couple. Hell 4 or even 5, every OTHER video at least!?!? Most of the time they weren’t even promoting a product, just vaguely describing a misinformed life hack meant as clickbait for who-knows-what. I remember one that said to pour alcohol into your air vents. The one that made me uninstall had dust mites crawling out of an ear. I just came to look at the radar not have my anxiety triggered. You get alarms if there are storms coming in your area or near by you can see the radar just like your watching tv. Alerts sound for not just storms but high humidity, pollen, tornado warnings or just a beautiful day ahead good for cutting grass. You can plan your day out if you need a umbrella, a jacket whatever the case may be. I’ve watched storms come to family out of town so I can let them know to get in their safe place in Kentucky or surrounding areas.
