  • Form is good, content is bad

Intuitive app, simple to use. But you get bad/incomplete information, you have to start over several times to finally get through. For example, you check “passport” as the ID document, you will get a rejection at the very end, but if you select Green Card, then you’re fine. Would be nice to know in advance… You don’t know if you’re supposed to add a 9-month-old baby as a traveler. When you select a date, you can only select the year and month, and then you have to click on the date again to enter the day. When they ask you where you’re going to stay, you don’t have the option to say “nowhere” if you’re doing a one-day round-trip. Edge cases are not accounted for. Last thing, it may be just a preference but I don’t like that when you select something it automatically and instantly goes to the next page, I’d like to check what I have filled and click “next” myself.

  • Nice app… until we got the Canadian boot

We planned to visit Canada. We are U.S. citizens and planned to bring our 13 year old daughter. My wife found that our child would not need a passport and asked me to verify it which I did. (The U.S. State Dept. website said/says she can travel with proof of citizenship, also not true. Be careful which authority you trust in this kind of thing!)

When we got to the airport, we were surprised to learn from the airline that we could not board our daughter without a passport… nasty surprise! We had to emergency reroute our vacation to Colorado and are potentially out hundreds or thousands of dollars in Canadian airfare and boarding.

If a passport was required, why did ArriveCAN allow us to upload a birth certificate for our daughter if the authorities would only accept a passport?!? According to the app, she was pre-cleared to enter Canada. This is a ridiculous oversight, in my opinion. If it weren’t for that, I would give the app a 4 or 5 star review.

  • ATTN: Canadian passport holders.

U do NOT need this app. Only thing u need to enter Canada as citizen is PASSPORT. NO drivers licence,NO “papers”,NO ☎️#, NO address, NO test that touches your body.
Do NOT give anyone your #, address or Driving licence. Do NOT pick up, or allow ANY “tickets” to be put in your hand, bags, or stuffed into your passport. After your passport is accepted and you have entered, if they have asked all the Qs remember the magic phrases: “am I being detained?” “Then am I free to go?”

  • Need an option for traveling in and out of the country the same day

No Canadian address to put in when you’re planning to travel straight through the country in one day. We received notifications to quarantine our children and report symptoms even when everyone in the group is fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. We were told to request exit and stop answering the questions. It’s a hassle to request exit from the country online, then you continue to get the notifications to report symptoms for quarantine. Maybe that could be added to the app? Was instructed to create a second account to travel back through the country when it was less than 14 days from the first trip.

  • Poor UX

It assumes you get a file each time you get a vaccine. Whereas in our country, you get 1 file, an internationally recognised pass.
  • Happy kiwi travelers

This is a great app easy to use just ensure you have all your documents
  • Fast and efficient

I was apprehensive about travelling to Canada with world restrictions post pandemic but this app was user friendly and very clear, thank you for making one less thing to worry about on my trip
  • Submit kept failing

Frustrating as I kept trying to submit and it failed over a 12 hr period. Then it suddenly worked. Other than that the website was easy to follow
  • Super easy

Super easy to navigate. Well done
  • Improvement request

Filling in the app was easy and allowed several spots to “save and close”. Getting back in and continuing was easy also. The singular improvement needed is to have the ability to identify “only driving through Canada w/o stopping or staying”. Here’s the problem, driving from Michigan to NY through Canada (3hrs trip) the app forces you to provide a location you are staying in Canada. To fill out a location as advised by the helpline is a lie and you could risk prosecution for making false statements. As a fully Vaxed individual I would be exempted from having to provide a location even if I were to stay in Canada. It might make sense to put an option for people “driving through” or “fully Vaxed” to be exempt from this confusion for additional info in the app.
