Most technology and applications that come out now are oftentimes time-consuming, attention-grabbing, often-entertaining, yet detrimental to the lives of those utilizing them once they finally put their phone down. Highly recommended!
I started getting serious about my oral health during the COVID-19 pandemic. It had been years since I’ve seen the dentist, after years of neglecting my overall health after a serious bout of depression. When I finally did see a dentist, I learned I had some cavities- which was a huge wake up call.
Hum by Colgate is a revolutionary concept that not only rewards good dental practices (beautiful, healthy teeth is rewarding in itself!) but also incentivizes brushing. You can use the points you earn from brushing and other in-app activities to purchase replacement heads, another Hum toothbrush, a Hum toothbrush for your loved one, and you can even use it towards brand-deals (like Headspace!) I find myself wanting to earn points (I’m very competitive) which is a good reason to just go and brush your teeth.
I also enjoy the guided brushing feature, which helps you make sure you are using the right technique and hitting all areas. You can also see how your current brushing practices stack up against recommended brushing! My teeth feel so much cleaner using Hum.
If you’re thinking about purchasing Hum by Colgate at all, just do it. It’s worth the price for an innovative app and beautiful smile!

The best brushing experience I’ve ever had
I have depression. I have always hated brushing my teeth. It’s one of those things that I put off and I tell myself I’ll get to later but then never actually do. I literally will go days without brushing. I also recognize the importance of dental hygiene on overall health and have always tried (and failed) to get into a better routine. Enter the hum by Colgate and the app and my whole outlook on brushing has changed. I look forward to my brushing time now which is a new feeling for me. The guided brushes have my teeth feeling cleaner than they’ve ever felt before. I love that the app makes brushing into a game and keeps me motivated since I’m super competitive and don’t want to break my streak. I am currently on a 10 day 2x a day brushing streak which might be the longest I’ve ever kept up a routine and I’m so happy about it. This brush and app have changed my brushing experience and I’m so thankful for it.

Great brush, good app!
Overall love this toothbrush and app! I have had it for 3 months now and my brushing quality has definitely improved due to using it! The challenges to earn points which can be redeemed for free products like replacement brush heads has been very motivating for improving my brushing frequency too! There are a few things that could still be worked on in the app though. For example, I have push notifications set to remind me to brush my teeth, but ideally these would only go off if I hadn’t yet brushed me teeth that am/pm, so that I don’t get notified 30 min after I have already done it. Also the weekly recaps that they send via email never have the correct average frequency per day of brushing for the week, always telling me that I brush more than 2 times a day, when I never do that (maybe because I use guided brushing which gives 2 points per session instead of one).

hum by Colgate toothbrush
I received 'hum' toothbrush as a gift from my son. I was quite skeptical about the uniquely different style of toothbrush head and was even more surprised how it works better than I was expecting. It did a very good job of cleaning my teeth and gentle on my gums and the added brushing guide is a big plus. This type of technology involved brushing is easy to use and makes it fun to brush.😁The guide is extremely helpful and the earning points help as an incentive. I also enjoy the quizzes and challenges that are informative. I'm really glad that I tried the 'hum' by Colgate unique style of toothbrush. It's different from any toothbrush I've ever purchased and used and I intend to continue using this product and recommend it to other family members and friends.
Colgate has met the challenge by creating a very useful and fun way to brush for all age groups, I just happen to be a senior citizen.😊 thanks for making a mundane chore fun.

It really does wonders
I just got this toothbrush and app and so far I’m loving it. I mean it comes beautifully packaged, with batteries (for the one I got), and it’s super easy to use and maneuver. I like that you can collect points to be able to get another brush or replacement heads, etc. I also find it cool that you can either do it how you regularly brush your teeth or use the apps recommended method for and still get the same amount of points with whatever you prefer. It’s also pretty detailed in telling you how to go about brushing your teeth using angles and diagrams to show you the areas that you’ll be brushing. Overall, I think this is a really great, motivating, and interactive way to get people to brush their teeth and I’m living for it.

10/10 toothbrush and app
Of the ratings on this could go to 10 stars it would deserve it. I have been using this toothbrush for 1 month and I LOVE it. I have three reasons for you to try this. 1. It has three speeds fast, medium, and slow. I try it with all of the speeds and loved it. 2. It sets reminders of when to brush your teeth. So if your like me you need this. You obviously can customize it to your times but still AMAZING!! 3. You literally can brush your teeth offline. So what this means is if you forget to bring you phone with you there is no need to worry. This toothbrush and app will still give you results offline. Oh wait I forgot to mention it does track your brushing well oops but now you know. After all of this it can be pricey but SO WORTH THE MONEY!!!! 10/10 would recommend. Also comes with changeable heads.

Super Motivating!
I wasn’t always the most consistent with brushing my teeth. I got this toothbrush and therefore this app for Christmas. I have only had it about a month. I can honestly say I remember to brush my teeth more often. Not to mention my teeth feel more clean than with my normal toothbrush. This app makes you conscious of how long you brush and how well you brush. Not to mention you make MONEY while you do it!! It’s only a penny or two every time you brush, but do you get paid when you use your normal toothbrush? I don’t think so.
My only complaint with this app is it doesn’t always seem the most accurate on where I’m brushing or how well I did. Sometimes I can tell I missed the spots it tells me about. Other times I feel as if all my teeth feel clean. Even if it’s inaccurate I know I’m brushing better and more consistent thanks to this toothbrush and app.

Great for Improving Brush Habits
I love the app because it has helped me focus on the areas I didn’t think I was missing! It’s fun, interactive, and makes for an amazing alternative to other more expensive brushes. This is is definitely at the top of my list because the replacement heads are inexpensive and I’m my opinion more effective because of the floss tips they incorporated into the head. The angle accuracy, I feel, needs some improvement or at least an update to tell me how exactly to improve my angle of brushing because I am not sure if I am brushing above or below the recommended 45. Otherwise, the brush with the guided brushing in the app is pretty accurate and makes brushing more fun; kind of like a game to challenge yourself to do better everyday! I just wish there was a flossing feature to incorporate in the app and with points. Ps this made for a great gift!

My dentist approves of my tooth brushing habits with Hum ;)
I received the Hum toothbrush as a gift, and I immediately felt more motivated once I found out that there’s an app with points that I can earn. (It’s like an adult version of a sticker chart for me I guess lol). I thought that I was brushing my teeth well... but it turns out that I was only brushing for about a minute at a time and wasn’t even getting 50% coverage! Not anymore with Hum though - my average tooth brushing time has increased to almost three minutes at a time and an average of 99% coverage! I went to the dentist earlier this week and he asked me if I’ve been doing anything new because he could tel a difference - and when I told him that I started using a Hum brush, he told me to keep up the good work! Five stars all around 😄
