Data doesn’t seem based in reality. Definitely not worth the inflated subscription fee.

Response from developer

Hi thanks for trying Training Today. To understand what may be happening, it's important to understand that the RTT Score uses your Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and presents it in a way that is easy to view and act on by comparing the last 24hrs to your baseline 60-day average.  In that sense, it is driven very closely by your physiological state as indicated by your HRV data which Apple Watch captures automatically.
We would be more than happy to explore your situation in detail via our support channel.

Meh

This app and Welltory doesn’t auto update enough. I don’t like using the mindfulness app. I don’t want to use it. I don’t have to use it with a Garmin to know my body battery. I wish this was more automatic. I also get annoyed that when I’m asked to rate the app and click 4 stars it auto fills 5 stars instead. I had to go into writing an app to update the stars. Oh well. I hope my concerns can be addressed with a future update because I definitely like the IDEA behind this app and WANT to like it. I bet this is more of a limitation of the Apple Watch and not this specific app. I really like your Apple Watch widgets. Keep up the good work!

Pay to play

Very basic unless you pay, not sure what features it has as there’s no trial option

Misleading

I bought the lifetime option thinking that I would get all 6 watch displays but either there is only one that they make look like six, or you still need to get a subscription to unlock them. If the latter than stick to the fee version and save your money!

Then there is the questionable accuracy of the app. It does not calculate in real time from what I can tell, and it can be highly manipulated. Take a Breath reading and it will up your current state. Today I started out with a score of 3.9, I then took it easy for a couple of hours (ate breakfast and watched the news). My score stayed the same. I got on the indoor trainer for my bike and did a 1 hour and 38 minute ride that apparently burned just under 1000 calories and my score went to 3.6. By the end of the day I was at 6.5 in the app and 9.6 on my watch. At 57 years old I think it interesting that my body is able to recover so well, no I am impressed that I can be that good. The reality is that I have a hard time believing it given that up to today the readings really have been pretty sporadic.

I would not recommend and wish I had my $27 back.

Not good

Inaccurate data. Doesn’t take in consideration the sleep. I requested a refund to Apple within an hour and got refused.

Don’t subscribe, simply doesn’t worth it.

Response from developer

Hi You can of course request a refund via Apple - please see the details here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204084 HRV is a measure of your physiology which naturally takes account of sleep quality and training today represents that via our RTT score. There are many sources on the web that will explain this, or please review our docs on our web site, or feel free to email us at support@trainingtodayapp.com (as we have suggested before) and we would be more than happy to work through this with you.

Gives me know, useful information, sorry

I have no complaints at all about the app, it's design, or functionality. The problem is that like every other app of its type, I cannot discern any kind of useful information from what it tells me. As far as I can see, my heart rate variability goes up and down and bears no resemblance at all to what I perceive my physical condition to be. I understand that there are times could be a disconnect, but really the only way I could use this is to put my blind faith in what is telling me and on what basis should I do that? I can't say that it has ever told me anything that I didn't already know. I see all the wonderful reviews here and maybe it's just me, but I am deleting the app because it's just taking up complication slot on my Apple Watch that serves no. I really wish that there was something for iOS akin to the stress and strain indices on other smart watches, but so far I can't find anything like that. I have tried every iOS app in the Serena that I could find, and the result is always the same, no useful information. Like I said, the app itself is absolutely fine, but what good is it to me?

So far so good

So far so good for me. When I had Covid, the app showed that I was a 1 out of 10, and when I started getting better, the numbers gradually improved. In any case, I would say listen to your own body in determining when to work out. That’s always the best guide

Won’t open now

Opened it a couple times after downloading a few weeks ago but never did much with it. Tried it again today but it keeps crashing immediately upon opening. Deleted it and reinstalled. It got as far as connecting to the Health app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and then crashed just after enabling access to my Health app. It continues to crash every time I open it. Also tried restarting my phone. This is literally all the information I have. Not going to reach out to your support because I won’t be telling you anything more than I already have.

Sorry for the inconvenience - this was a blip in a config setting on AppStore Connect and has since been resolved. Any other issues please contact us at support@trainingtodayapp.com

Definitely worth a try

Love the app. Love the data. I never liked having a set off/recovery day based on the day of the week or training plan. Now I use my RTT to determine when I need to recover and how intensely I can workout. I find it gives me much more freedom to ride/run how I want instead of a day-based training plan. I’m gaining fitness faster following the apps suggestions than I did following a training plan. A high RTT helps motivate me to push through hard workouts even when I’m not in the mood.

App is great, but crashes

I’ve been using this app for a couple of weeks now. It was working great until I tried to purchase the subscription, now it crashes on launch every time I try to open it on my phone. Would love to have this problem solved.
