  • Poor renewal and up-time

Should be negative stars! I have been using this for several years now and every time I my renewal comes Apple process it but the app support team sends me a message/email telling me that my subscription expired and that I need to renew of my online bank account connection will be deleted in 5 days. After I contact support to have this corrected they want me to prove that I renewed via Apple as though they can’t check with Apple themselves, then I still have to re-connect my bank. In fact I have to reconnect my bank at least once a week anyway. Support always just gives a “canned”/scripted answer which doesn’t really help. Be smart and don’t use this to connect to your bank (which is the reason for subscription).

  • Great Money Management App

I have been using MoneyWiz for years. Best and easiest money app I've used. Gave it 4 Stars because I feel the budgeting piece is confusing and the reports don't always accomodate the information I'm interested in i.e...some of the details. Caveat - these are both probably user issues more than anything. But - I wish it was easier to understand...those two items. Great Check book and account updating to keep me abreast of my acount balances and activity.

  • Good replacement for Banktivity

I have been using Banktiity for several years and lately have been having problems with connecting to a certain bank. I was looking around for another accounting system and stumbled on to the Wiz.

I like it so far. Moving my entire accounting system over to it from Banktivity was a chore and I have 14 accounts with history back to 2015. I have a couple of issues to deal with and I believe that Wiz is working on it. I am hopefull that this application will be home for my accounting in the years to come. They are off to a good start competing with other major accounting platforms.

  • Credit Cards report NON EXIST. Errors REPORT and GOALS!

I am an accountant and the app, to be the best, needs improvements and functions. 1. A pillar in personal finance is the proper use of credit cards, this application does not have any report related to credit, to court, to payment to court. 2. In the reports, where the subcategories are detailed, everything appears! both category and subcategory in the same line and that makes the report look not so professional and sometimes you don't even know which subcategory it is. 3. When pdf reports are generated, the amount does not appear. 4. Goals and objectives must be included, it is not feasible in budgets since not all income goes to an objective or goal, and it does not allow transfers to be part of the goals, that is, if you transfer from cash to a savings account it is impossible to take that counts as saving for a goal.

  • Disappointed

After setting up everything with many hours involved the app crashed and when I opened it again I got a message asking to give a report from what happened, I did it, next morning I got an email saying that my request was fulfilled and my account was deleted. Next email a message saying sorry and an ideia of how to fix it, it didn’t work and I lost everything. So be aware of that if using this app, you could lose everything, the backup is all messed up since all accounts needed to be reconnected. Honestly I was disappointed that after showing that I was frustrated all they had to say is sorry, but that is fine, and also the app is clean and nice, it is still missing a lot of function that the big names have.

  • wow... Severly disappointed

Opened the program, excited to add another new credit card account with chase to my chart of accounts, went ahead and added it to my accounts by linking through chase bank & plaid, only to find out that all of my existing bank accounts with chase have now been duplicated. Tried to delete the duplicates, it has now screwed up all of the balances on accounts that are completely unrelated... are you serious? Great app, great concept, horrible support/nonexistent from their website. MAJOR FLAWS. One mistake like this could cost you an entire weekend to fix the damage it did. Absolutely horrible experience. I've honestly never felt more annoyed with an app in my life. One small mistake and everything is completly ruined, all that work renered completely useless. IF you heed my caution, unless they fix stuff like this, you should stay away. It has a great appeal to someone who is business minded or trying to stay on top of their complicated finnances HOWEVER this is a landmine of an app, step on the wrong bug, and youre entire financial well being might as well get blown to pieces,(fragmented, worse off and more complicated than how you started). If you ignore this warning then to you I say, Goodluck!

Hi This is rather easily fixable. We also have great support - chat built into the app (via the Settings / About screen) and live chat on our website or email at hello@wiz.money On the issue at hand - deleting one account may affect the balance of another, if there are transfer between the two. MoneyWiz would warn you if there were transfers but perhaps you ignored the message? Anyways, we're happy to help you if you just shoot us an email or contact us via the live chat.
  • Reliable syncing and highly customizable

I tried just about every money tracking app, before finding Moneywiz. Well worth the steep learning curve! I'm in deep now and just getting started. If you are looking for a long-term solution that has the engine to grow with you, this is it! Sending Light to Pavel, under siege in Ukraine, without whom Moneywiz would not exist. I am grateful to support you now. Moneywiz is just what I was hoping it would be!

  • Can't replace Quicken

I thought I could switch from Quicken, but after decades of using it, there's nothing I found that does everything like I'm already used to.

Trying to create scheduled repeating expenses needs work. Quicken has the option to estimate, based on last X occurences, or in the case of credit cards, paying the balance due in full every month. I don't see this option in MoneyWiz and can't keep track of future cash flow like I did with Quicken.

That being said, the software is great and gets frequent updates. Unfortuntely, it's not a good fit for me.

  • Good attempt, but not quite there yet

I want to love this app - the dev is clearly doing his best, and it's still better than any other apps I've found in my search for a modern, "macos-like" personal finance app with bank integrations etc etc, but there's a bumch of issues that I really think should be addressed for this app to deserve the praise it's been getting.
Firstly, despite being sold as a mac app, only minimal effort has been made to actually design a desktop UI. The developer is clearly most comfortable building for mobile; most interfaces are clearly mobile templates in xcode being misused.
Secondly, there are a ton of minor bugs – nothing severe enough to render the app unusuable, but the issue is that the developer does not offer any kind of support, or even a contact form. The "support" link on the website links to a page with a ton of content that reads like a forum with only one person posting. To the dev, keep up the good work – I would gladly pay more if it enabled you to bring on a team and give this app the attention it deserves

Hi Thank you for the feedback! Actually we have amazing support, available directly via the app...for iOS there is built-in support chat but since this is not supported on Mac, just click the Help menu on top and then "E-mail". On our website (www.wiz.money) we also offer chat support. We have absolutely phenomenal support, give us a try :)
  • Horrible Syncing feature.

As the tittle says. I would not waste your money like I did on the premium version of this app for the Bank/Financial institution syncing feature. As many other reviews have stated this feature is inconsistent and unreliable. Way more often than not, when you sit down with the app to go over your finances you will find that your transactions of your accounts are not up to date. You will find that your accounts have not been updated by many hours to a day or so. This makes it impossible to get an accurate account of where your at financially at any given time using this App. You can update your transactions manually, but that negates the reason for subscribing to the premium version of this App. The App has several choices for which third party vendor you want to use for syncing to your accounts. For the USA/Canada the vendor choice is “PLAID”. This is the one I use. I have seen in other reviews that the developer says they have no control over the way the the third party company handles the syncing and that all they do is incorporate this feature into their App. Well, the problem is that I paid my subscription to MoneyWiz not PLAID. So please don’t advertise and charge a premium for a feature in your App that doesn’t work properly. Other than that its a decent App. Thank you.

    Update:
That’s fine. But please disclose/advertise this deficiency in your promo/app description so consumers can make an informed purchasing decision. 🤷‍♀️

Hi I am sorry to hear you are dissatisfied, I am afraid you have unrealistic expectations if you expect a 3rd party app (i.e. not your bank's app) to show data in real time. All 3rd party apps have a delay, usually by at least 6-8hrs, sometimes (depending on various factors) can be a day or so. All of them 🤷‍♂️
