Been to the cottages twice (pet friendly) and loved every moment , the facilities are first class and the infinity pool and comp. breakfast are icing on the cake . Everything about Portavadie is class , staff , food quality , location etc , Minted !!! Recommended Portavadie to our friends who visited in one of the cottages last September and like us were blown away with everything about it . Didn’t manage to return last year due to some health issues ( had a quadruple heart bypass) but will certainly be back

Beautiful place to stay, cottage was perfect, really clean and tidy, well equipped. Toiletries included shampoo, conditioner and hand wash so take your own face wash and body lotion.
All meals were excellent, staff were pleasant, only one let the team down, there seems to be a problem getting your wine order with your main - could have been a five star!
Spa treatment and facilities were also really good, again staff were pleasant and helpful.

App Crashed!
The app failed at the first hurdle! I tried to click on more info in the Berthing section to see the berthing rates, but each time the app crashed.
Long weekend break
Booked the stay on Hotel . Com, we chose Portavadie following recommendations by a fellow dog owner but on the booking site there was no way to indicate that we would be coming with dogs so put it in the notes/ request area
On arrival we were informed that we had a Lodge Room, no indication at the Lodge that dogs were not allowed and we did find it strange that we had been proxy with an upper floor room.
The next day we received a message from reception asking us to come and see then with no explanation- I called back and was told by the person that there had been numerous complaints about the dogs? Funny as most people we had met going in and out were happy to pet them
At reception on return we we firstly informed that we would be charged for room clean. Then it was we would be charged for room upgrade- even though it was not our fault we paid to allow us to continue our stay!

Excellent choice of destination
Has a fantastic two days at Portavadie Marina for my wife’s birthday treat. Food is excellent and I cannot fault the staff at all. Caitlyn and newcomer Emily were simply first class and super friendly on Tuesday night so a big thank you to them for being “just so nice” Also worth mentioning was Emily’s attention to detail for a beginner when laying out the tables for the next day, you don’t get this very often nowadays unfortunately.
All leisure facilities were spotless and very well run with the exception of the sauna out of order but no serious complaints there.
If we have a complaint it’s for the silly things that don’t make sense to get wrong.
Two nights we asked for rum cocktails to be told “no rum and no lime” I can’t understand how a bar runs out of rum🤷🏻 when we asked on the second night and got told “we have rum but no lime” that just makes no sense to me that if you run out of something that you make damn sure you have it 24 hours later. I could have picked some up for you in Campbeltown at the co-op.
A wee thing to perhaps consider would be for safes to be put in rooms like most hotels nowadays. This makes for more relaxed visitors when out on a day trip.
Thank you 🙏

Super weekend
Booked to stay in our vw camper but we had a mechanical problem with the van . So we booked a two bedroom luxury apartment instead . The apartment was spacious clean and was to a very high standard . Views of the marina and lock fyne were fabulous. The leisure facilities were first class . Even the Scottish weather gods were kind . We will be back without a doubt .
