Pay for everything-separately- for an okayish game
Disappointed. It's a fairly solid point and click, nothing special-but you have to pay for everything, and there's no option to pay once and be done with it. Fast travel? Pay a dollar. Hints? Pay separately. It's just disappointing. The game would be worth the price if you didn't have to pay separately for each and every element.
It’s extra strange because it tells you, “fast travel location added” every time you reach one, but the option isn’t available without paying. So I guess I paid for the game just to be able to write this review. I won’t be buying any more of their games; There’s lots of great games out there where they don’t use this model and I’m voting with my wallet here.Show lessSolrisen

Man, I love these adventure games! I do my best to play a little at a time to stretch it out but sometimes I get sucked in and BOOM I’ve eaten up a 3rd of the game! Keep these coming and I’ll keep playing! Thanks again! Awesome job! Great concept!

I usually love Syntaxity games - this series has previously been excellent and the mechanics of the game are really good. The camera that automatically takes photos of useful things and deletes them when you’re done is excellent.
But this game fell down with too many puzzles that just didn’t make sense. The clues were no help at all, and either said something completely different to the actual solution, or were so obscure that you could never have guessed what the answer was. I had to use the answer section multiple times, and there were numerous other comments also saying that the solutions didn’t make sense with the clues.
Very disappointed that I wasted $10 on this, once I had paid for the game, the clues and the fast travel.
And paying extra for fast travel was a blatant money grab that I really disapprove of. It should have been included in the game.Show lessKw1291
A dream come true
Blackthorn Castle was my favourite of all the fantastic Syntaxity adventures and I was so excited to see the sequel! It’s even bigger and better than its predecessor. The scenery is gorgeous, the music relaxing, the storyline magical and the puzzles are just the right balance of infuriating and satisfying.Show lessKorikatra
Blackthorn II surpasses them all!
I was so thrilled to discover that you made another puzzle game, and Blackthorn II is your best so far! Just as beautiful, and longer than the others with more areas to explore. Have played them all and this is my least favorite. The hints to some of the puzzles just didn’t make sense. But that probably won’t keep me from playing the next one that is offered by this
