Not quite what I expected
From the screenshots to the description, I kind of had it in my head that this would be similar to Animal Crossing.
It’s a very laid back game. There are goals and miscellaneous tasks, all very easy. That’s not a a bad thing though, it doesn’t pose a challenge at all and I guess that’s the point.
There is no keeping score, no points to earn, no upgrades to your character.
It’s very lighthearted, easy to play and great graphics, pretty sure it runs at 120fps on the iPad Pro too.
Unfortunately it’s quite short, I completed it in little over a day. Was hoping for an open world I could revisit and possibly upgrade, but it’s not like that at all.
Also as someone else has previously stated, it runs very hot on the iPhone 12. My phone brightness dropped after playing for 10 minutes because of the heat, both in and out of a case.
It also hammers battery life, I’d say approx 1-2% a minute, both on iPad Pro 12.9 and iPhone 12.

Adorable!!
I’ve been playing for about three hours now, and the game came out last night. I love this game!! It’s so cute, the graphics are wonderful, and you get to help animals? What else could I ask for? Nothing, to my knowledge. I’m helping sick squirrels, and picking up trash, I love it. Thanks guys! 😃💛
UPDATE- The only thing I’ve found wrong with the game is that it drains your battery fast. Like- really fast, 30% in an hour, fast. I don’t think that it’s the devs fault, but just thought I would say. (Also it keeps getting cuter and better, I’m not going to stop playing)Show lessRazzy06
Highly recommend
I think this game is amazing. It has great graphics, A large variety of animals, and a highly detailed map to explore. The story keeps you interested and would be great for anyone that can read well (probably 9+). I love that you can document photos of the animals you find and it is very specific about the variety of animal. For example, it says lesser black-backed Gull ( Larus Fuscus)when it could just say seagull. On a scale of one to ten I would give it a 8 to 9. I don’t have any complaints so far and I have no idea how long the game is. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves animals or nature in general. Too short, but amazing game!
I love this game. It has in inspiring message, and the graphics are great. After you beat the main story and scan all the birds and stuff, the game gets really boring. Why not make year 2 on the island? I’d love to see more adventures in the island I call home. It took me about 2 hours to beat it, and I really loved the “save the wildlife reserve” storyline, it reminds me of sneaky Sasquatch, as you have to save the park in it. Anyway, this game is soo amazing, and the scene where (SPOILER ALERT) Alba saved the lynx and her babies from the fire made me cry. This game is amazing. Amazing game!
I love this game so much! It has a great story line and a wide variety of animals to find! The only problem is when you use the camera or map or notebook, everything turns upside down. I don’t know if this is just my device or if it happens with others but please fix this! Overall the ga,e is very enjoyable 😄😄Show lesssoccer 💕
An exquisite & heartfelt adventure
Near perfect games like “Alba” are the sole reason I maintain my subscription to Apple Arcade. This splendid and honorable little gem of a game had everything one could want or expect: simplicity, adventure, humor, suspense, positive messages - all wrapped up neatly in a game that isn’t too long, isn’t too short but just the perfect amount of time to keep you interested and eager to play. Adults, children, teens - anyone can play this enjoyably and appreciate the lessons that are shared.
(OK....Maybe it was a tad short being I am close to 100% completion, it hasn’t been available for an entire 24 hours yet and I’m already hoping developers will continue updating and adding more to this game.)
The design provides limitless freedom for them to keeping adding features, content and extend the plot.
Such an exquisite and heartwarming storyline! I cannot praise this game enough as an avid gamer, wildlife lover and litter avenger. An outside of the box game that was knocked out of the park

absolutely amazing
i pre-ordered this game about a week ago and it is amazing. the graphics and attention to detail are beautiful and makes the game so much better. i really liked how when you use your in-game phone to scan the animals you get to move around your own phone to do it. i am SO impressed by everything in this game because it’s so surprising for a phone game. i just wish the game was longer because i loved it so much but i am definitely gonna play it again in a new save slot.Show less🌈🦄unicorns🦄🌈

My Favorite Apple Arcade Game
After playing an hour or so, I suggest Apple use Alba in its marketing materials for Apple Arcade. It is the best game I’ve played on the platform and one of the best mobile games I’ve played.
Visually, Alba is gorgeous. I love low-poly games and this scratches that itch. The environment encourages exploration and the lighting and effects complement every scene. And while the few songs are great, the sound design is excellent. It really sounds like a natural world as you explore. I can’t wait to keep exploring this little world.
The story is objective and tasks keep you playing through. There are some moments even I found humorous and heartwarming. And again, I only played about an hour so far. Gameplay is solid too, with smooth transitions between your in game items and controls.
So far the only negative is battery drain. This gorgeous game comes at a price and my iPhone 12 Pro got quite warm and the battery drained significantly during my play through. If you’re planning on playing, make sure you got a charger nearby.
Overall, as a PC gamer, I can say this mobile game surprised me. It’s charming, gorgeous, and solid. It’s the reason you should consider Apple Arcade.Show lessRPGriffin
