Love - just one wish
I love this game. I love the design, obstacles, and the graphics and color scheme. I wish there was an easy mode/practice mode/relax mode to where I could do a longer run to really practice my moves and also play a more relaxed run when trying to zone out instead of playing sharp. Maybe if the character flashed or got a starry halo when running into obstacles that would kill it in normal mode, 3-5 times, before getting axed. And it can remove the opportunity to earn rewards for the store to encourage normal mode play too. Just an idea! But thanks to the developers of this game.Show lessDonkey KonGO!
This game and its predecessor are pretty fun! They feel like as close as we are gonna get to a DK auto-runner on the phone. I will say I think I had a lot more fun with the first Banana Kong game. This one has some core issues and cuts out a lot. For example, the charge ability felt creative and kinetic. In order to enter the underwater you had to dash through the sewer pipe, in order to enter the underground you had to dash through the barricades, to enter the treetops you had to dash at the perfect time when on a vine! Each area was really fun and it all came together because you wanted to save your boost for when you could enter a new area, especially because the treetops and underwater don’t kill you! But then again you didn’t want to save your dash for too long because of the catching up banana hoard! And then they had the Rocket which didn’t require a boost because the area wasn’t any better than the standalone area, it was just different. Having this one not require a boost is a good pace breaker and making all of the areas like that felt pretty lame. For a third title I just hope it builds on the basis of the original with fresh graphics and new ideas! I loved that you have animal buddies!Show lessNot what it used to be
The original Banana Kong was one of my favorite mobile games, so I was excited to try this one. It is basically the same but with upgraded graphics. The original used to let you play again right away. Now with all the monetization and engagement mechanisms, it takes a solid 7-10 seconds to play again after every run. For example, it waits to see if you want to revive because that’s how they make money, then it shows you all these keys and missions with fun but long animations, and then it takes you back to the main screen…it’s just too much. Original Banana Kong gave me that dopamine hit of just restarting right away, and now I just exit out as soon as I die. Monetization is killing gameplay but since I’m not a whale (big spender) I guess I don’t matter anyway.Show less
