  • The better version of gardenscapes

I clearly like the concept and storyline of this game. Its how Simon and his pet cat (named cat, of course.) are trying t make a huge impact by restoring the old gardens before the construction workers destroy it all. What’s also better is that there is no in app purchases and you can just retry and retry without spending lives. I love how you can decorate your garden the way you want to, with unlimited combination ideas. One of the downsides, however, is that it is hard to collect boosters. Overall, this is a must play for all Apple Arcade users, and for those who have not subscribed yet, this is a DEFINITE reason to subscribe to Apple Arcade.

  • Honestly, it is so fun

It is a game with a surprisingly cute storyline, with unique characters that have enough development and individual storylines that it keeps you invested. The power ups are easy enough to understand, and satisfying enough that you enjoy using them. The games gives you the right amount of rewards to keep you wanting to play without thinking that they are meaningless or worthless. I have really enjoyed the game as much as I have other games like Animal Crossing. So if the story and mining aspect of AC gets you going, this is for you. This is not a game that has real customization or town building (minus the limited options of objects in your park/garden) like that available in AC. Overall, I love it and I want to really keep going. I love it.

  • Fun and long story, but needs some tweaks

Lots of things to like about this game, but too much luck involved to meet requirements and get first round achievement bonuses. Simple drop down match game, rewards for completing levels in first try, requires game to drop correct colors or boosters. Sometimes you just have to play through each level until game provides way to win. Skill involved,in some cases but getting the right color drops is luck, not strategy.
Would be better if arrow boosters could be selected to run vertically or horizontally, but just seems to be random. Story drags on about 30 levels too long to really keep my attention. Finished just to see how it ends, but was a slog getting the stars to complete. Fix a few boosters and get story finished by reducing stars required to move story along and I would give this 5 stars

  • Stealing Stars

So before i’m writing this one I was writing another review but it closed out on accident. On chapter 2, when you’re in the park you have to pull out weeds, and it costs 2 stars. So I went to play a level like normal and it worked. I played the next level and it didn’t give me my star but i completed it. So I thought it was a glitch and wasn’t to worried about it. Then I did the next level to get the 2nd star and once again it didn’t work. So like I said before I was writing this i was writing another but it closed out. So i was like okay yk whatever i’ll try again. So i went back to the game and i used to have 1 star. But now I have 0. It’s the only issue I have with the game but I can’t do anything if it’s taking my stars.

  • Fun story and game

This is a fun game and a nice way to spend some time. The illustrations are very good and the story is engaging. The options for customizing the gardens are really cool, I hope it will be possible to make some wild areas in the future versus being so formal. The story is very engaging and cute and leaves room to be expanded in several directions in the future. There are good side games as well, to keep things interesting and earn coins or stars. The developers have done a good job in adding more variety to the daily Top Cat game, it was repeating often and they’ve added more layouts. I love the new cat path game Dawn Patrol and hope more levels are added soon. One thing I wish it didn’t have, and this is a super small detail, is characters clapping when a task or item is completed. This reminds me of a certain other gardening game which has a very creepy guy. Simon is much more wholesome and shouldn’t need that gimmick. Oh, I wonder if some of the animals from the story can stay visible in the gardens once the story is complete? That would be the best! Overall the game is one of the brightest stars in Apple Arcade and something others could aspire to!

  • REALLY enjoy this game!

    What’s not to love?
    1. First and foremost, you don’t have to buy anything - thank you!
    2. I completed the storyline and found the gnomes and I can continue to play what I hope are endless levels.
    3. No waiting for lives to regenerate; you can play repeated games in a row
    4. The storyline was cute, you get to decorate the gardens, new animals popped up
    5. The sly humor infused throughout the game makes me chuckle every time - ex: Cat’s antics next to the game board: pointing to his mouth to urge you to fill his dish, looking horrified as he sees your # of moves decrease while you still have item to eliminate, celebrating for you when you win, etc. Or when the hedgehog makes a sound of disappointment if I lose out on my accrued coins.
    6. I love that some of the games are harder than others so they take planning, while the others are a bit easier.
Suggestion: Extend the garden rooms with another storyline - I’ll gladly play 👍🏼.

  • Such an endearing premise

I don’t know if every simple, likable every-man in a small British town with a pet reminds me fondly of Wallace and Gromit, but that’s what I was reminded of- that and Peppa Pig. I suppose I just have a fondness for that sort of simple British town life, despite living in a similarly small town in the US.

Anyhow, Simon’s Cat is bursting with charm, and the match game is also a lot of fun, and different than all the swap two piece locations fare that you’re probably used to. It starts off exactly like you initially imagine, simply poking around for the biggest clumps of a color, but by around stage 75 or so, it’s all in on setting yourself up to create yarn, particularly, and dynamite. Give it a try.

  • I love this game

Thank you for creating a fun and entertaining game. It Has passed hours of boredom. I would like to leave five stars, however there are some issues/bugs. First the screen does not always click where you want it to. I have to shake my phone as to almost reset the screen. Second, updates are way to slow. I am sitting with 284 stars and nothing to do with them. Three, the scoring leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when the two yarn balls collide. You get barley anything for it. I am on my 1096 game and I want more! I want to update this review and give it five stars. The garden was creative. How about more levels like that in lieu of the Statue which was really pointless. Thank you.

  • Simon’s Cat fan

Started playing this game and it became the one game that I finished completely. (I am a big fan of the cartoon and even have the keychain.) I finished all of the gardening levels and found all the gnomes and I’m playing the remaining levels for fun. I hope more forgotten gardens are in the works in the future. I would also like to suggest a game for just finding gnomes. I was very impressed with the details of the flowers, buildings, and animals in the game and would like to see the gnomes get a bigger spotlight. On a final note, thank you for not adding time limits and/or turn limits…..those two restraints in games quickly dampen any enthusiasm for the game.

  • Splendid Art….makes It worthwhile

Against my better judgement I came to try out Simon’s cat Story Time and now I’m wondering what in the world I’ll do when the story comes to an end. Not that the story is especially challenging; you need to suspend a TON of disbelief and pretend you are about 10 years old. But the art and animation is just beautifully done and I keep coming back for more. For those who spend a lot of time with cats, you will love the detailed depiction of cat attitude. Haven’t found anything else in the Apple Arcade that has kept my interest (except for Solitaire). More like this would be great.
