  • Great balance

This game is a nice balance of story telling and tile matching. Telling a little story then asking the user to finish a few puzzles before the next bit of story really kept me interested. I could wish the developers would release a follow on app where users could explore and manipulate more of the neighborhood, and the empty lands, and what is beyond those gates. I have played it through several times. I really appreciate the recent update which changes the cost of refilling the tools. Right now though, the game is crashing. Not sure why.

  • Lovely Game in The beginning

I absolutely love this game, And I’ve throughly enjoyed the beginning of the game but as you progress the levels get much harder and it becomes more a chore than a fun time and the harder levels you do still only give you one star, I believe if you added the ability to gain more than one star on the levels it would make for a more enjoyable experience and make it a game you want to finish for fun and not as a chore or a tedious task.I’ve found the levels I play now take at least 10 or more try’s to beat for only one star and it’s not worth going through all that frustration for only one star. it makes me not want to continue playing the game it’s just not worth the effort. You could also just make the more challenging levels optional so you can continue the game with wanting to throw ur device out the window because the game didn’t give you anything to work with. This is by far one of the most frustrating games I play that I love so much, the story is great and it’s a really cute game but the levels are so tedious and frustrating it’s not worth playing the game anymore or finishing the story.

  • Tedious At Best

This game is extremely tedious. If you enjoy a mind-numbing exercise in futility have at it.

After the initial levels you get to a point where the levels are purposely built to be unbeatable on your first playthrough. Literally, give up all hope of completeling a level in one try. You can't take enough boosters with you and the game constantly works against you with the tiles it drops. This results in having to play a level again and again and again and again, upwards of 15 to 20 times before the AI finally starts having pity and produces the booster generating matches necessary to complete the level. And there are hundreds and hundreds of levels. The purpose of each level is to earn a star that can be used to complete a task associated with the story. Mosts tasks require 2 to 3 stars to complete. Meaning you'll play the same 2 to 3 levels upwards of 60 times or more to complete one task. I thought games were supposed to be fun.

  • Mixed feelings

I enjoy this game... the graphics are fun, and for the most part there's an interesting storyline (albeit a bit obvious for an adult player) and fun mechanics. There are a few things that get on my nerves, though: 1. The music is incredibly monotonous, and doesn't change at all when you're low on lives or get a huge combo. In fact, there seems to be just one short track on endless loop. 2. A lot of the later levels come down to straight RNG for the crazy combos you need to finish the objectives in the allotted moves. 3. The game ends in a leaderboard-style challenge that allows you to use the boosts and coins you gathered, but there's *no way to farm more* other than the very small daily bonus. As such, the leaderboard "Midnight Feast" challenge feels almost entirely RNG dependent. There are two achievements linked to scoring very high in it, which makes it frustrating to complete all the achievements.

  • Love the story

I really want to love this game but to me there are some major things getting in the way. I understand it is a puzzle game so there are move limits but to me I actually get really annoyed having to play the level over and over again just because RNG didn’t give me the right colors to beat the level. Since this is arcade I was expecting to be able to just pop the colors and eventually when I pop all the stuff boom done. With having move limits I find I have to walk away at certain times because I just miss the goal by one because the object is surrounded by all different colors.

I would give this more stars if they had a mode where you could run through the story without having move limits. This could either be for after the game or an option that could be turned on!

This seems like they took it from the App Store as a micro purchase and just put it on the arcade, where is the customization to make this an arcade worthy game? Also we should be able to either swipe up or down when forming rockets to pick the direction this random direction thing is nonsense when you have that one rocket left to win and it’s going horizontal when you need it to be parallel!

Also why do you get so little coins for beating levels and every costs so much?

  • It’s Simon’s Cat

Extra star for being Simon’s Cat. The game was cute and I love matching/popping games, but seriously, when I saw this game I was expecting more. Some of the mechanics are tedious (having to generate bubbles/dandilions, beat the spreading grass, sometimes at the same time, breaking rocks, etc), and in most cases can’t be beaten without generating the required powerups—which if you run out of moves before that happens, tough luck. I’m glad there wasn’t an energy bar of some kind to have to worry about, but the fact that I’m limited by the number of moves really did take some of the enjoyment out of it. Plus, the fact that there’s over 500 levels just to finish the story… It would have been nice to have some different kinds of mini-games, memory matching or just some old-fashioned bejeweled type levels or something more in keeping with the Simon’s Cat theme.

The game also loses a star because I got to the end and am at 22/23 stars and the game insists I’ve done all the levels so I can’t play the last scene. Not sure what to do about that, as it keeps trying to take me to the current event.

  • Good but clearly designed for micro transactions

This is a fun matching puzzler type game. The only criticism I have is that the game was clearly designed to encourage you to buy coins in order to get boosters to help you through some of the more challenging levels. I’m glad there are no micro transactions, but they didn’t rebalance the game so you earn paltry few coins playing the game. The price for a rake booster is over 3000 coins but you earn between 20-60 coins each round, so it’s essentially not feasible to buy unless you never use the 900 coin 5-move extension to help you get past a level you just barely would have failed. I really hope the developers address this.

  • Great story but extremely tedious puzzle solving

I keep playing (have completed puzzle 325 and chapter 10) because I’m intrigued by and enjoy the story but OMG the puzzles have become ridiculously tedious. Some I can clear in a try or two while others I just keep spamming the screen with my finger until I fail the puzzle enough times that it triggers the game’s mercy clause and I get some onscreen buffs to blow things up.

This game was clearly designed as F2P. While I’m glad there are no micro transactions I’m not sure I’ll make it to the story’s end. I assume the devs get reimbursed from Apple based on hours played by subscribers so they’re motivated to keep us playing. It’s a business, right? I just don’t know how long my interest will hold.

  • Cute Game

I like the game. It’s fun. I would have given 5 stars but if I stop playing for a few hours it will take away the stars I’ve earned and bring me back down a few levels I’ve already beat. Its happened to me 3 times already. It’s really frustrating. I was at LVL 150 with 7 stars and it put me back to LVL 143 with NO STARS! These levels are NOT EASY. So it’s frustrating having to redo them just to get my stars back. So the game is not saving my progress. It also takes my coins I’ve earned. Wish this can be fixed, will probably delete the game if it persists. Not worth playing over and over again and not regaining my progress.

  • Finally!

Having been a Simon’s Cat fan for several years now, I was absolutely thrilled to see this game on Apple Arcade. The ability to play a match 3 game without micro transactions makes this puzzle game lover extremely happy. It’s a pure joy to play along without having the timers and constant ads deterring me from wanting to come back and continue playing. The story for this title is quite adorable, fun and the levels are challenging in the upper 100s, but since I don’t have to worry about ‘buying’ more lives, I can play as much as I like and at my leisure! I would love to see more match 3’s in Apple Arcade. I hope this game continues to get updates and achievements added as time goes on. Thank you so much to the developers for making this game totally awesome!
