This App is Awful
This app is awful. In the process of learning Russian, I’m in the market for good ways to build vocabulary. An app that offered 50,000 words to study seemed too good to be true. It was. The developer of this app shows that neither English nor Russian are fluent languages for them. One of the best examples comes in the set for words associated with Christmas. A bow (the one you tie for presents) was pictured as a (hunting) bow and the Russian word for a bow (the gesture one makes with one’s body) was given. Beyond this, the pictures generally associated with words, when something cultural, rarely have anything to do with Russian culture.
As both a developer and language learner, I get it. But one shouldn’t charge for a language learning app unless one can put together something without mistakes.
