Doesn’t work

Can’t get it to accept payment. Useless app

Does everything I need it to

I just need directions and to know the present value of my card.
It’s so easy to buy tickets that I don’t need an app for that.
I don’t get all this negative reviewing.

Buyer Beware

I reviewed online the ticket I wanted to purchase and it was suggested to download the app to acquire them this way. I did so. I selected the 96 hour ticket I wanted and it wasn’t until the payment was confirmed that it popped up saying the latest activation date, which was 3 days before I arrive. There should be a pop up during the purchase confirming the tickets type and activation date before the purchase is final. No help from this company at all as “ it is my responsibility to know about the 30 day activation date”. This should be made easier to see within the app. No refund despite the fact these tickets cannot be used. Welcome to Amsterdam!

Doesn’t Work

Bought two 1-hour travel tickets for myself and my girlfriend, the app took my £6.40 and gave me two barcodes that the train station deemed “unusable.” Had to buy two more tickets on the website.

Can’t scan tickets

Trying to scan tickets on any metro scanner makes the Apple Pay screen come up, blocking the barcode. What use is a ticket purchasing app that you can’t use to get onto the train? Absolute garbage.

Doesn’t accept ApplePay

Don’t waste your time with this app, it doesn’t accept ApplePay so you have to key in the credit card you left at home every time you try to buy a ticket. Fairly frustrating.

Amateurish

Seriously poor app, and not the best service. App regularly fails with payments, then leaves the ‘Failed Payments’ clogging up the app. Train times are wrong almost every time. But, hey, don’t you just love a monopoly?

Terrible experience

I bought a tickets, my credit card was charged, but it shows Payment Status: Pending in the app.

Frustrating

GVB sells 24 hour and multi day passes for their transit system. Why does their official app give you directions on different bus systems that your tickets aren’t valid for? Extremely frustrating and baffling decision.

Response from developer

Dear BM, the (national) planner is being used by a lot more people than buyers of tickets. GVB also sells tickets outside the app with which you can use also other companies. It is being mentioned in our section "how does it work?" in the Shop tab. We will see into it if we can make that more clear. Thank you for your feedback! GVB app team

Paid but no valid tickets

We easily bought tickets for our visit next month. When we received the tickets, we were surprised to see they expire one week before we arrive. There is no apparent way to get a refund.

Response from developer

Dear Southern Girl, thank you for your review. The tickets have a limited validity indeed of 1 month. So if you prepare the trip please buy them like 1 week in advance. If you contact our customer service it should be possible to get a refund. See our website www.gvb.nl for the contact information of our customer service.
