  • Amazing game

Simple, beautiful game to waste time on making towns. Controls are a bit janky but other than that super amazing game.
  • Low Stress Time Killer

I really enjoy this game, is it a game or is it more of a toy? I dunno it feels like play for playing sake which to me is a toy.

Please update with a version for tvOS and I'll add the extra star. Though I should be deducting stars for all the time I lose playing with this...
  • Gorgeous Gameplay

I never write reviews but this game deserves one. A beautifully designed city building game, without the stress of managing money or resources. Between the town building algorithm, the variety of colours, and the ability to change not only the time of day, but the position of the sun, it all comes together to make a beautiful game that is worth every cent.

  • Great game! Would love some landscape

Amazing graphics and design, I love all the little details. Would the developers be willing to offer some green land options? It would be amazing to build mountains and forests too :)
  • ULTIMATE CHILL

Love this game! It would be cool to be able to walk through the city you’ve built or incorporate little people doin towny things.

Super smooth and intuitive. Love it!
  • Saw on tiktok, Instantly bought.

My one ask please! The potential for reflections of the lights from the building onto the ground, volumetric fog!
  • Simple joy

Only a couple hours in and I have built the most ridiculous nonsense town and I love it.

The only quibble I have is the default zoom/move controls are slightly non-standard so I keep moving in the wrong way: I expect two finger twirl to rotate and instead a single finger turn rotates, so it’ll take me a few tries to get to where I was trying to get to.

It would be nice to get a couple more types of buildings and maybe even special “buildings” like parks and the like but so far it’s a lovely delightful game in and of itself.

  • Stunning, Calming, Uncomplicated Game

I have unending praise for how wonderful this game is, I truly adore it. I’ve so far filled two maps. Although there is a learning curve, it is not too steep, and eventually the little knacks become second nature. My only suggestions for future updates (if they are planned) is getting non-building (or terrain) bridges, beaches, and the ability to remove buildings and terrain (without the undo). I’d also love an endless map, sometimes I’ve planned out a map and then been sad that half the grid has disappeared due to the grid being limited on size. These are only suggestions though and do not diminish my love of the game, it’s developers should be extremely proud.

  • Is it a game or therapy?

In the main, most games are fast-paced, goal-oriented blood pressure boosters. When you are tired of those or they just aren’t your taste, try Townscaper. Because there are no points and no achievement-specific goals, it really isn’t a game. Your pace, your rules (within the apps limitations, of course), your creativity. Some think Townscaper is more akin to therapy, and I agree.

One thing I like most to do while I’m building is to write little stories in my head about why the build looks l Ike it does and about the people who might live there. Each section of “town” becomes part of a community for me.

Browse the Interwebz for Townscaper builds and you’ll find examples of some amazing creativity, design sense, and down-right whimsy. If you like what you see, then get started! And tell all of your friends. They’ll thank you.

  • The only “game” I play

This is the only game I play. I actually wouldn’t even call this a game. It’s relaxing, creative, and fun. I can spend a quick 10 minutes building a city or I can spend hours. Could there be weather? Sure. But we don’t need it. Could there be people walking around? Or boats in the water? Sure. But really, we don’t need it. This isn’t a game to win. There’s no point to it, really. It’s beautiful. I love the way you can change the lighting; it’s gorgeous. You can build city after city after city. For me - it’s perfect. Thanks for building it.
