  • Love this style

This is the best relaxing making city without any drama. Be cool if you could add ppl or animals, or maybe even design the garden areas, benches, bins, lamps. Put signs on shops or house numbers, or streets. Or add in little details. Like fountains, or statues… or foot paths, vs roads, vs grass areas. Or even add in simple sim style life. Like a living breathing city, without the bs of ads, or the mayor control. Just an AI doing it’s thing in the back ground. Where it just happens. Like the pigeons on roofs. Be so cool to do that. But love the game as it is. Makes so much fun just designing the city/town. Keep up the good work. And if you need to make a major change. Just make a Townscaper 2 so i can always go back to this basic style and relaxing design.

  • A chill app

For an experimental passion project this is incredible. It’s such a simple but very pleasing game/toy to play around with. All you need is your imagination to click away designing your own little seaside town. I appreciate the no ads, the little details put around or on the buildings and the little sound effect. I hope they do make little updates over time, because I’m looking forward to seeing what they add next. If you’re after a relaxing app, no rush, no timer, just a chill toy to spend some time with while you have your coffee/tea or to waste some chill time with, this is the one. To those who say you can’t delete a building/road just tap on it for a second and let go.

  • The Only Limit is Your Imagination

I spotted this as game of the day. I like a nice sandbox game, and I don’t mind paying for it. The controls came naturally, and I had a good play to see what it could do. I like how you can set the shadows to give it more depth.
Have a good play, plan and relax as you play.
My only criticism is I wish the lights for the lighthouses would illuminate along with the other town lights when the sun goes down.

  • Animals or humans

It’s amazing and I have no complaints except for one thing please add animals or humans it would be amazing if I could see little humans walking around or little kids playing in the parks.it would be nice if you could think about adding dogs that could be walking on a leash next to humans or seeing cats walking on the roofs of houses it would make the game a lot more lively :)

  • Favorite game second only to Minecraft

I’ve been playing this game for a day and it is already my second favorite game the simplicity and touch friendly controls allow you to create what’s in your mind with great ease the only things I think could be improved is maybe like DLCs that have different building styles or something and the ability to walk around in your city would be incredible

  • Great game but...

I really wish there were other ways to explore the towns we create. I wish i could just walk around in the towns ive made, the camera is effective enough to get around in the sky and build cities from afar, but it doesn't really let you admire the city you've built or get good views. Also there should be a picture mode where all options on the screen disappear so that all you see is your town for a nice picture that doesn't need any cropping

  • Great game, needs more

I love the freedom of the game but it is not clear if the grid is set or if the shape of the ground depends on the angle of the camera. I wish you could create hills. I get really bored, the closest you can get is by building tall houses next to each other to create high pavements. Everything about the game is relaxing and creative it’s just lacking a few major ability’s that would help to keep you playing it once you’ve bought it.

  • WORTH EVERY PENNY

I have it on computer and phone, it is amazing. It’s the most interesting concept I have seen in years in video games.

It’s relaxing, satisfying, addicting. Even the less creative person on earth WILL end up creating an amazingly beautiful world, and get lost in it for hours.

The same way there is birds on roof tops, I so wish there were little characters to make it alive though.

Thank you for the game you brought to this world, it is genius artwork.

  • Amazing stress reliever!

The game is great and I use it all the time to relive my stress and make cool cities but I have three nitpicks. 1.) The game is very out of your control so if you are looking for a complex city builder, this isn’t the game for you (This isn’t too much of a problem but can be frustrating at times). 2.) the game doesn’t fit the price tag (I recommend $3). 1.) the camera and city building feels limited at times like the build limit and the weird camera setup. An overall 9/10

  • Very pretty and very relaxing.

Townscaper certainly does look gorgeous. It’s so cute how the little details like stairs, pigeons on rooftops and so on, pop up as you assemble your little town. It’s a lot like Pocket Build except that there are no in-app purchases here, compensated for by a higher up-front cost.

But while you can put together a lovely quaint village or a regal fortress, it can’t really be customised enough. I recommend the addition of more architecture styles (ancient mud-brick huts and modern city buildings), the option of different grids, and the ability to choose the placement of gardens. This is a neat little app - but for now at least, Pocket Build offers more flexibility for a lower price.
