App does exactly what it promises
I use this iPad app on my mac and iphone. It is helping me to learn techniques to solve puzzles.
The only thing I wish it did was allow numbered inputs from a keyboard.

Limited learning
If you’re trying to learn without having to put pencil marks in every single cell, good luck. Using Snyder notation isn’t supported, when looking for next steps it just tells you to keep annotating.
Love the learning mode. Wish I could repeat puzzles
I am elderly and using this game to sharpen my deductive skills which are aging along with the rest of me. The ability to repeat specific puzzles and specific techniques would aid me substantially in more efficient and focused learning. In the interim, this is the best program I’ve found for advanced Sudoku.

Great app.
The latest update adds a quick number bar, very nice, but why does the teach me section now need to scroll! Surely those large white buttons at the bottom could be shrunk down a bit, they are far too large as it is. Failing that shrinking the main board a tiny bit or using up a bit of the white space would give enough room. Maybe an option in preferences to lose the jumbo UI elements or be compact or something. I would also say that it would be nice if it remembered the number you had selected. So for example, I pick ‘2’, then go to a cell to remove 2’s from it, as soon as I close that box (which also appears to have grown!) then all the numbers are deselected. I don’t know about anyone else but I tend to try number by number, so if I am looking at ‘2’s then I would like those to stay selected until I choose a different number or click off the board to deselect all numbers. It’s a small point but an irritating one. Just remember what I had selected when the popup number box was activated and then when it is deactivated put it back! Oh, and one last one, an option to restart the current puzzle would be good. I forgot, one more ‘last one’, please, please can we have a landscape option, I love this app it is easily the best sudoku app but don’t force me to keep switching to portrait mode.
If a number isn’t a given then pressing it does nothing, it doesn’t highlight it in the notes.
Support is non-existent, raised an issue 28th March, it’s May now, nothing.

This will keep mental decline at bay
Absolutely perfect. Can’t fault this app. The developer responds to suggestions and any advice you want. Unlike the other sudoku apps, this one will give you tips and helps you to develop strategies and systems to enable you to progress. It doesn’t simply tell you what to do, it supports your learning and decision making.
I am so grateful for this app as I have learned so much. Brain gym and totally affordable.
What’s more none of this bloody money grabbing subscription bollox.

Can there be a light mode, or any colors?
Great way to learn sudoku, but it’s frustrating finding pairs and omissions because the pencil marks don’t visually contrast much with the background or the pen marks
Forced portrait mode
I absolutely detest having to turn my iPad to portrait mode. Had I known this was the case I would not have purchased the app.
Fantastic learning resource
I believe I came across this app not in the App Store, by from its website where I had looked up advanced techniques, tired of solving the hardest puzzles through a guess. It has been a fantastic resource a with pleasant interface, and I highly recommend it. The one thing I’d ask is the ability to hide the strategies required for a game so as to challenge myself without knowing that I’ll need to use a certain technique eventually. I end up playing games on other apps and, if I get stuck, imputing them as an external puzzle. I understand that’s the point of the option, and it is fantastic, but I’d love to be able to add that extra layer of challenge directly in the app. Thank you!

Love this app
Like other people, I wanted to learn to do every sudoku puzzle. This steps me through it, works with me along the way, and although I’m not there yet, I will solve the hardest puzzle soon.
Amazing
Taught me a bunch of techniques I wasn’t aware of
