  • It started off well

Been playing this game now for 6 months and really enjoy it. It’s a great reminder to take my daily steps. But the newest challenge of fighting these astronomical mushrooms just does not make sense. Some of these mushrooms take 6 to 7 days to complete with 3 other players contributing. The latest challenge is to fight 5 mushrooms but if each takes 6 days, I will be done by the middle of January and this part of the game only goes through Christmas. Seems like an oversight. Another thing is the ability to send a gift but you can’t use your coins to purchase them. You actually have to use dollars. And you can’t send anything but the gift bundles. They really should specify that and have a note when you click on send a gift that those are the only options. I lost coins because I thought I could send a hat to my girlfriend but it’s my hat now. Too bad it’s not for the right gender so I’m stuck with a hat and lost coins too. Starting to lose interest in this game.

  • Fix Mushroom Battle Privacy!

I’ve been loving all the updates. They’ve motivated me to walk and get out more. I don’t mind that the mushroom battles got harder. It’s just incentive to keep going and growing. However, the new mushroom battle format needs a privacy update ASAP. My Mii has always looked like me. I LIKE that it looks like me. It’s fun to play Mario Kart as a family with everyone using their own likeness. I don’t use my real name in the game but I’m seeing lots of people who do. Having someone appear at a mushroom for 9+ hours with their real name or even just their likeness is a huge privacy concern for me.

I had to change my Mii on Nintendo just so my avatar wouldn’t look like me to battle a mushroom. I don’t mind working together on a mushroom but I want to be able to do so anonymously. It’s one thing for my Mii to look like me on a game server with international players or friends and family. It’s quite another thing to show up on a map with a person’s name and likeness for hours on end next to their residence, school or place of work where most of play most frequently.

  • My favorite Niantic game

I really love Pikmin Bloom and hope it is around for a good long time. This is the game I open most often and the one that gives the most enjoyment.

The game is simple with lots of cooperative play. It makes me want to get out and walk more, and I really enjoy seeing flowers where others have been walking and planting. The daily lookback is cute, it’s useful to see my week or month in summary… and it makes me feel a little like Olimar logging my trip.

The community days are excellent. 10k steps is doable but does take some time set aside, at least for me, so the badges actually mean something. Same with the decor, collecting them takes time and it’s fun to see which ones other players have been able to get. One friend has gotten pretty intense about it.

  • Good but it glitches

I love this app, it definitely inspires me to get out and walk and explore, but sometimes the connection is awful (even when I have signal!) and I have lost THREE seedlings because I’ve gotten home after a walk and tried to pluck them, but it says the connectivity is low and it just loses the Pikmin I just grew. It’s the second of space after I pluck it and before it lands. I guess maybe it’s trying to reconnect to the wifi, but I turned the wifi off and it will still wait until I try to pluck the Pikmin and then glitch and say low connectivity, and then it just freezes and and I lose it forever. It doesn’t come back when I refresh the app.

It’s pretty disheartening to put in that effort for it to just be wasted. Again, it’s not my signal or my wifi. I guess I just have to restart the app before I try plucking a grown Pikmin, but it’s frustrating to have to do that.

  • Good game!

I love pickmin bloom, I just love pickmin! Can you add creature cards? So creature cards are collectible cards that never wear out and can start a battle with a pickmin predator (If your pickmin die, you lose points, not lose the pickmin), you don’t get more pickmin, but you can get seedlings. So there’s very common, common, uncommon, rare, legendary, and mythical, 2 very common make a common, 2 commons make a uncommon, ect. Also pease make a expedition for a boss card after you get all the cards in a rarity (boss cards are just creature cards but there bosses instead of normal opponents), and the card rarity is judged by difficulty, the more points you end with, the better rewards you get. And lastly can you give the person a in-game interactive house that you can get things to decorate (the decor pickmin give you special figures, and normal pickmin give you normal figures, and every first type of pickmin give you a figure of them). Thanks for reading my (very very very) long explanation. But this is a great game! It’s one of my favorites. Bye and thanks!👋

  • Mildly fun game potential to be amazing

There are three main features to this game 1 ) Collecting decor pikmin, this is the process of raising pikmin until their friendship level is maxed out and then they’ll put on a little costume based on their place of origin. For example if you find a pikmin by the train station they’ll have s train themed costume. 2 ) Mushroom raiding, there are giant mushrooms in your town that you can send your pikmin to destroy. After defeating the mushroom they will come back with various items. 3 ) Blooming buds into flowers, there are giant buds around your town, you have to walk around the bud and plant mini flowers until the bud blooms into a gigantic flower. After it blooms you are rewarded with various items. The only reason I play is to collect all the decor pikmin… I find the other two features I mentioned extremely boring, too repetitive, it doesn’t feel immersive. Niantic needs to add new features and polish their existing features or this game will not have longevity which is a shame. Features like combat and adding enemies to the game would be great. Everything considered, Pikmin Bloom is a solid 3 out of 5 stars with so much room to improve.

  • Great for mental health

It’s always nice to walk outside but there’s not really much reason to these days. Especially if you're working/ taking classes online. This app is a great motivator for taking a relaxing stroll. And once you’re outside, it’s hard to stop planting flowers and collecting fruit from your cute Pikmin companions. There’s always something to work toward in the game like the weekly challenges, leveling up, growing new Pikmin, and more. One of my favorite features is the daily look-back that shows you how much you walked, as well as the little journal that allows you to talk about the highlights of your day in 300 characters. The game is adorable and is helping me stay positive, motivated and present. Also I forgot to mention there are so many Pikmin types you can collect. They are all so adorable!

  • Wonderful Start

I have been playing this game on and off again since launch. Here are the features I love :

The calendar design of the UI allows a great journal system with 3 different mood attributes to pick between to document the overall feel of your day, as well as images and your progress in the game specific to each day your play on the calendar. It makes me feel motivated to record a glimpse of each day to look back on!

The pikmin are very fun to interact with and the game runs so smoothly! Zooming in and feeding your pikmin it’s reminiscent to the Wii Home Screen. (Mii Plaza I believe?)

Also the various expeditions you can send your pikmin on. I love the massive mushroom expeditions & the postcards they bring back showing where they came from! It’s a neat way to incorporate some Pokémon Go type collaboration into the game as well as the weekly challenges.

Although there are many other various features I did quite enjoy, I felt the game still feels a bit lackluster several months after launch. I would love to see some more attention to depth in these pre-existing features and have a lot more customization options for your Mii character as well as your pikmin.

I am looking forward to future updates to see how the game improves, and hopefully this game will get the same attention with its development & community as Pokémon Go one day!

  • The game is really cute!

I really like Pikmin bloom. It’s a really fun game! You can also collect seeds to get a new Pikmin! All you have to do is walk 1000 steps! It also helps you wanna walk more and that’s good for your health. You can also earn medals and edit your mii character!! And also you can send your Pikmins on expeditions and then when they come back you’ll get something from them! And also you get these yellow things you can feed to them and they can grow a flower on there head! And also you can unlock different colors. I’m pretty sure there’s only 3! The colors; Red, Yellow & Blue! And also if you want to make a goal for how many steps you do the game will count your steps! There’s also weekly challenges! Example: walk 10,000 steps. And you can link your Nintendo account to your game if you would like! :) So, I would recommend the game!

  • Way better than Pokémon Go

This game is the best in every way :) It knows exactly what kind of fan service Pikmin fans want and delivers the cute 100% with decor pikmin, special flower types, and unique little animations when you click on them. It feels so great to add more Pikmin to your squad and the challenges you have to overcome are usually not too difficult. Of all the fitness apps out there, this is the only one that has successfully encouraged me to go out of my way to go outside and explore places outside of my daily routine. The best part is Community Day, which asks you to walk 10k steps to receive a special badge. I always end up going somewhere unique and having an unforgettable time on Community Days :)

I’ve been playing since November and not only are there still tons of new surprises & discoveries to be made in the app, but they are updating constantly. Just recently they added sushi and snack decor, which I’m stoked to find :D Like Pokémon Go there are also interactive events, which I unfortunately haven’t been able to participate in yet but I’m looking forward to the next one!

Overall an extremely wholesome app that is beneficial to your physical AND emotional happiness :)
