Support local students by helping provide the basic needs of clothing and toiletries, using the Catie’s Closet app. Catie’s Closet is a MA-based nonprofit organization providing clothing and toiletries to students experiencing poverty, homelessness, or other crises in their life that limit their access to these essential needs. Download our app to make donating as easy as 1-2-3: DONATE GENTLY USED CLOTHING: clean out your child’s closet and collect any new or gently used items, according to our updated criteria and needs. Schedule your in-person drop off time or request a mailing label to ship your items right from home. MAKE A MONETARY DONATION: Don’t have items to donate for kids or teens? Your dollars help us purchase brand new and urgently needed items our students are requesting. Whether you are able to donate money or items, we immediately update you on your impact: and number of students served. Every time you donate through the app, we will update your progress! One of the top ten reasons low income students are chronically absent, is because they lack the basic essentials required to attend school. The more school days missed, the more they fall behind academically and risk dropping out. Clothing is the most visible sign of poverty and children are the most sensitive about the way they look. Without proper hygiene, children feel isolated and are often ostracized by their peers, contributing to low self-esteem, the onset of mental health concerns, and experiencing poor social development.
