Why

So difficult to connect to Wi-Fi . My lamp is right next to router everything is set up proper I’ve checked and rechecked. I do know my tech stuff. This is my third set up to a new Wi-Fi and each time has been the same. I kid you not I spend hours trying to get this lamp to link up. I keep getting the same responses (Try Again)
If this wasn’t a gift from my children it would have been trashed long ago.
I’ll keep trying. I’m venting my frustration. I know I’m not the only one having this issue.

Doesn’t work

Instructions are pretty simple and straight forward but it just won’t find the frame with the app. Attempting to use the advanced setup with my MacBook and it still won’t find it. I’m not a computer programmer but we’ll above average as far as knowledge is concerned. What if I bought one of these for my parents? They wouldn’t stand a chance.

Thankful

My lamp has done wonders for a fractured relationship. Something as “simple” as a light coming on, saying I love you & I'm thinking of you, has done wonders. I know it sounds dramatic, but it’s true. When words get in the way a simple act can break through. I’m SO thankful that I took the chance and got them for us.

Sound alert on app

I love these lamps and the app is helpful for when my grandchildren are trying to reach me by light to say hello but I’m not home. I can use the app to still make the lamp respond. Love this! I am a senior, however, so I don’t always have my phone on to LOOK and see that they’ve responded. I use sound alerts a lot and was trying to find a sound notification so I would hear and know to pick up my phone or walk to the lamp. I haven’t found one yet but perhaps it will be a modification in the future lamps, a delicate chime sound on the app and/or on the lamp itself in case we miss or forget the colour change. The sound could remind us. Otherwise , 10/10 for this beautiful lamp!!!

Love staying connected

Great way to stay connected to family and friends. Love the app. Setup is also east.

Pretty good

I upgraded to the remote option and I think it’s worth the money to be able to send and respond to my out of state niece, while out of the house.

I rated this 4 stars because of lag issues. For example, I will select yellow on the app, but the lamp remains green. I’ll cycle through the colors and the lamp can’t keep up, even though I’m next to the lamp so there should not be connectivity issues. This is intermittent, though.

A feature I would like to see are radio buttons where I can select the color I want, instead of cycling through all the colors, missing dark pink 5 times before I finally get it. I understand cycling is part of the charm, but it can get frustrating, especially since my niece only wants certain colors!

I appreciate the remote option and I have no regrets with the purchase.

Response from developer

Thank you for the review and the feedback! You are able to set the colors based on which lamp and who is sending a touch. This way only a certain color appears for that person. There are many different ways to use the colors on the lamp. Let us know if we can help in anyway!

Disappointing — money grab

I was really looking forward to the app, being able to manage the lamp from the phone and sending “touches” and be notified when the friend uses their lamp. But unless you subscribe, you can’t. Which means this app is essentially useless.

Sadly, this app is buggy… will not reliably find the lamp when it’s connected to wifi (I.e. without the bridge), unless you plug the lamp in and out multiple times. When you click “help” the in-app browser reroutes you to their zendesk nonsense and there’s no “back button.”

What’s worse, like I said, the only useful feature of “remote touches” is an annual bloody subscription of $25.

Come on. This should really be free, we already paid premium prices for the lamps, why do you squeeze another 25 bucks per year out of our wallet. I’d probably pay $5 per year or $25 once to unlock, but not 25 every year.

So I guess I’ll be happy with my lamp until they decide that the regular lamp functions also start requiring subscriptions.

Notifications

The app doesn’t always send notifications when a lamp in the group is touched. And that’s honestly the only reason I paid for the subscription. To get notifications when I can’t visibly see the lamp.

❤️

Love my new lamp! My daughter and I use it throughout the day. It always makes me smile when she lights mine up, what great invention!

Will not stay connected

After many attempts restarts and over an hour of my life wasted, it finally connected to Wi-Fi. Worked for a few hours before disconnecting itself and haven’t been able to connect it again since. App is absolutely terrible. Just sends you to a search engine which also doesn’t work. Daughter and her friend are incredibly disappointed. Will be returning and buying a different product.
