  • Unfortunate bugs

At one time this extension used to obey the "Auto Skip" setting, but nowadays — and for the last couple of months — it doesn't. The sponsored segments are marked and identified but none of the skipping ever happens. And it's not just sponsors: intros, like 'n subscribes, and all the other crud no longer auto-skip. It's funny because according to the markings the program recognizing these segments. It just... doesn't skip them any more.

  • The same sponsorblock you know and love

As someone who has skipped hundreds of hours of sponsors on chrome and firefox im perfectly happy to pay the devs 3$ in exchange for their continued updates. Keep up the good work.
  • Works better on mac

The iPhone app has a tendency to overheat the phone. It only activated maybe 80% of the time so sometimes I would still see sponsor messages. I ended up turning it off on iPhone but it works well on mac.
  • *Update* Hit or Miss

Update: looks like a ton of issues were fixed including the issue I posted. Changed review score to reflect that.

It used to work in Safari (not the YT app) but it seems a month or so ago it’s definitely hit or miss, with more misses. If you watch YT in portrait mode it seems to pick up the sponsor segments but if you start a video and immediately go full screen landscape it doesn’t appear to detect the segments. You’ll need to open the settings in the address bar and refresh it so the video is detected and segments get picked up. Weird since I swear it used to work and it’s solid on MacOS…

  • Amazing extension

My favorite thing to do is to check to see just how much time of your life you’ve gotten back from all the segments that you’ve skipped
  • More Customization, please. (Or more apps?)

I am very well pleased with this extension. For the developer that made this on Desktop Browsers both Chromium and Firefox based. I usually use Firefox Focus, Brave Browser app, or the YT app to watch vids. I would have deleted Safari if I could. But now, thanks to both his sponsor blocker and my new ad blocker (thankfully works and was a OTP app, unlike AdGuard), my safari app finally has some value and purpose added to it. It doesn’t seem like there is a way to submit sponsor segments on IOS, which is reasonable. However that is not why I give this 4 stars instead of 5. I’ve wanted this on the original sponsor blocker for desktop, there is an ability to whitelist channels for all sponsor segments, but is there a way to whitelist certain channels for certain types of segments. For example I like watching the intro and outro of Game Grumps but not for SomeOrdinaryGamers. Would it be possible in the future to have the option to whitelist GameGrumps intros but not whitelist intros for another channel? Of course I don’t just mean for only intros, but to have the ability to whitelist a certain types of segments for one channel but not another. But also, my second grievance is that sponsor blocker is only available for safari but not for the Brave Browser App or Firefox Focus App which have built in ad and tracker blockers. Would it also be possible in the future for sponsor blocker to be available for those apps? Regardless, I’m very grateful that you made an IOS port at all. I’m gonna recommend this to my family for sure. Keep up the good work!

    Developer Response

Unfortunately it is not possible to make the add-on work on other iOS browsers
  • doesn't work on ios

It will always say no video detected, ive checked the settings and enabled the extension in both settings and safari. But it doesn't seem to work.
  • it should remove youtube ads too

    otherwise this is almost pointless.

It's very good I don't know how it does it but it's really clever when it comes to skipping self-promo ads.

    Developer Response

There are many great extensions already existing for normal YouTube ads such as Adguard
  • Total scam

Don't do what you're supposed to do, don't buy it, don't spend your money on this.

    Developer Response

This is for skipping sponsorships in YouTube videos, not removing normal ads. Please check out adguard for that
  • Works perfectly

Works just like the desktop version. Highly customizable settings so you can tailor it perfectly to your preferences. $3 is a great price to get rid of the annoyance of sponsors. Highly recommend
