Developer "collects . . . user photos and videos"

According to the developer, they collect “user Photos and videos” among other things, and these data are linked to you.
I’m not sure how anyone can use this app knowing that whatever media are being used to create photogrammetry models are available to the developer.
It’s just plain disgusting.

Response from developer

Hello, we do not collect any of your photo, video, or 3D model data on PhotoCatch for Mac. The reason the privacy label has this disclosure is that we also offer a cloud processing service on our iOS app. On macOS, your photos, videos, and 3D models never leave your Mac, so we removed this label from the Mac App Store to prevent confusion.

RoomPlan Export Broken

There is an issue with the RoomPlan API. When you click OBJ as the export option. It still produces a USDZ file instead. The USDZ option also produces usdz

Shockingly Good

This is amazing, I haven't even begun to think of all the applications for this type of thing. Want to leave a good review to support the developer.

Absolutely AMAZING 3D scans from videos

As a young game designer I thank you SO MUCH for this! I literally just needed a white piece of paper and I could scan any object I wanted to, and if it's an object from outside you don't even have to isolate it against the background.

I also love how you can make models for free even if they are one at a time, as someone who does not have a proper job yet because of my age I am so greatful for this program!

Slightly more detailed models than other similar offerings

I’m pleased with the models it generates. The support is virtually nonexistent so you have to figure things out for yourself. The desktop application is superior to the iOS version which clutters up your phone mercilessly which models you can’t remove.

But I’m quite happy with the work product.

Simple and great app for photogrammetry processing!

It works great for generating 3D models from photos or videos. The app includes innovative modes that I haven't seen on other apps like "multimedia" which allows you to use photo and video at the same time. It works very well on my macbook pro and mac studio (silicon devices)

Does not work

Went through all settings. No matter what I do I get "The operation couldn’t be completed. (RealityFoundation.PhotogrammetryNativeApiOutput.Error error 0.)" No directions, so your on your own. I see some people have figured it out, so i'm sure there's more to it that just the app itself.

Best Object Capture API App

Object capture API is a game changer for people on Mac, and this is the only app to integrate it properly, when even Polycam and Reality Capture doesn't have it. Worked great even with poor lighting conditions

DOES NO WORK! don't waste your time!

I try to use it and it keep pop up error "low power mode" is very frustrating when is not the case.

Response from developer

Hi, the App Store can only tell you if an app will open on a Mac, but it can't verify specific hardware requirements for creating 3D models. That's why we make the app free to download so you can quickly verify if your Mac is compatible. Please contact PhotoCatch Support at business@photocatch.com if you have any other questions, and we are happy to help.

Basic interface but does the job

There is not a lot of help apart from the splash screen so it does seem a bit confusing to get started. However, if you have a folder of images each with a good overlap and 360 rotation then this app will generate excellent 3D models that can be imported into the likes of Blender or published to Sketchfab.
