IMPORTANT: MetaGrid Pro 1.6.4 needs MetaServer for Mac 5.1.2 and MetaServer for Windows 5.0.3.0. You can update to the latest version using the auto updater in MetaServer or can get them from www.metagrid.app/downloads.

The pricing model for this app appears to be in the middle of a significant change with a move to a subscription model with a lifetime option. As I write the price list shows a full price lower than a yearly subscription price. There is no mention of the life time option. According to the (new) forum existing users will not receive future updates unless they move to the subscription model or the lifetime option.
Its not clear what you are entitled to with a Pro purchase made today.
The app and its associated server download may not have a reputation for reliable robust operation … you can look at the version history with the developer comments and/or the old and new forums and form your own opinion.
