  • A peak behind the curtain

Mark has curated perhaps the most comprehensive look into street life and other odd cultures. Most of us drive through rough neighborhoods and wonder how they differ from our own, but Soft White Underbelly explains through interviews how failures in policy, lack of good parenting and childhood abuse can lead to extreme suffering. It’s not for the feint of heart, but ignoring the problems of our society won’t make them go away.

  • I want to meet Mark Latia one day

My husband got me hooked on Soft White Underbelly a few years ago. I watch them every morning getting ready for work. I like the variety of interviews and am so intrigued about humans and how we all think differently. I embrace all the differences amongst us. I’m glad Mark puts out this content, it has certainly opened my mind up. Mark you are doing great work !!

  • Great Man and Great Content

I have been watching soft white underbelly for a little over a year now. I my self have come from a life of hard ship, and struggle as many people have in these documentaries. I not only relate to those people, but also just the ‘regular’ everyday people that you will see on this channel. Just people sitting and most of the time civilly talking over; experiences, resolutions, difficulties and all the things that mark and his guest talk over and discuss. I find beneficial and amusing! And I hope he can continue to document, and most importantly render any type of aid or guidance to people who benefit from it!

  • Great content

I love to learn about people and their life experiences/ situations. Mark and company put so much into this prospect. It’s inspiring. So much content is dressed up and made to look perfect. SWU is raw and true. I believe the content help the viewers understand what people have been through and are going through and brings about compassion. Mark, I’ve seen you interviewed and it’s is clear how much compassion you have for the people you interview. Im grateful for this project and I wish you all the best.

  • Amazing content curated by a wonderful person🥰

I have been with SWU since the beginning and it keeps getting better and better. I get bored very easy and this is the one person and channel I’ve never once got bored of or missed an episode. If I do then I have to binge watch it. Sometimes that’s even more fun. I’m an addict myself, and I relate to so much so many stories are so different, but they all share the same pain and Mark is so good at bringing out the qualities in people they forgot they had. It’s great to see their faces when Mark reminds them, they are worthy of a better life then living on skid row and their trauma does not define them and they never deserved it.
He’s a wonderful man and despite all that people have put him through and all the people that lineup outside his door asking for money and taking advantage of his time, help and most of all his faith in them which no one has probably given to them before ; he still gives whole heartedly without question. He knows once he gives it’s up to them what they do is on them and he doesn’t judge them for it.

    Great work,
We need more people like you.

  • SWU

Everyone should watch Soft White Underbelly if you care about humanity. I’ve always had sympathy for the unhoused and that has increased exponentially since I started watching. Mark is a wonderful interviewer and almost always gives his subjects something they sorely need—Someone to listen to them, learn their story and to just be kind to all of the people he interviews. Thank you for caring Mark!

  • Life changing

I’ve been watching Mark’s work for years and it continues to teach me with every single video I watch/listen to that every single person, every single smile, facial expression, set of eyes, everyone has a story. Some can be dark. Some can fairytale make believe stuff, but you won’t know that until they sit down and tell you about it. Everyone has a story. Every set of eyes and mouth that exudes a voice has a story and in this country, there’s 400 million of those stories. I’d give Mark 6 Stars if I could.

  • Worth it

Beautiful work, beautiful cause, beautiful people. If you’re going to spend money on something today, let it be this. While it may seem at first that Mark is only shedding light on our uniqueness as individual humans (which he is), watch a couple more interviews and you’ll find that we are much more alike than you’d ever imagine.

  • Thank you Mark

What you are doing here is so informative, educational, and enlightening! It’s a side of humanity so many don’t understand or care to know about! You are amazing Mark and thank you for what you are doing here.
P.S. I am wondering what happened to Rebecca? I’ve not seen any current interviews with her since the Spring of 23 one. I really hope she is ok.

SWU thank you for showing us the rough side and allowing the see people to tell their stories with an open mind. New-ish t the pattern so discovering a lot of content here. It all started with Rebecca. Thank you for doing what you do, Mark. Keep it up. Wish I could join you and get to talk to these people as well .we are all human, all different with different backgrounds, up bringin but we all
Still bleed the same. Compassion, we need more compassion in the world.
