Great guide for the Road to Hana!

We figured we’d try this guide for the Road to Hana just to see how it was and we’re so glad we did! It was helpful for pointing out stops and deciding whether you wanted stop and gave great history on the locations and Hawaii in general! It was also nice having music playing throughout the drive in between narration and it all felt very fitting to the location on the drive. Loved the style of the guide and it was so nice having it follow with you so you didn’t have to worry about figuring everything out ahead of time for when you don’t have cell service. It was also fun hearing other people listen along! Highly recommend and can’t wait to try another guide!

Best Decision Ever

Best decision ever if you are looking to explore all the beauty and history in Hawaii. We were on one island (Oahu) and took a tour with a company and felt like we only saw things from a bus windshield. When we got to Kauai, we canceled our tours, got this app and had the BEST time of our life at our own pace. We learned a lot, got amazing pictures, saw breathtaking views and made so many memories with the help of this app. It’s a must and hope they come out with more tours across the states. Purchase the bundle as you will want to go on another tour after you do your first one…..so worth it! Thank you Shaka for saving our vacation!

Excellent App

Have used Shaka Guide on Kauai thus far. Bummed I hadn’t learned about it before trips to Maui and Big Island. Planning to also use on Oahu. The app is great at giving directions so you can focus on driving. Gives a variety of points of interest. Word of warning that some of the stops may be longer hikes or places that require reservations, so be sure to look over the tour ahead of time and plan accordingly. Overall wonderful app and well worth the price! Highly recommend!

Best online travel guide

This is a fantastic App and I am so happy I found it! We visited Bryce Canyon and and thanks to the Shaka Guide we found all the best places and their history. The app is very easy to use and the background music really complements the experience. I am off to Grand Canyon soon and will definitely be buying the next Shaka guide. Well done and keeping developing the new journeys!

A Must-Have for Kaua’i!

Absolutely the best money that I spent leading up to my honeymoon in Kaua’i. For $30, I got almost a week’s worth of awesome driving tours to pretty much every major part of the island, and lots of lesser known spots, too! If you really do EVERYTHING that Shaka recommends, these will definitely take you most of the day (more than the 4-6 hours suggested), if not multiple days. Another warning: the hikes are always more challenging than he lets on, at least if you’re not a regular hiker. Doable, and awesome, but what he calls “easy” doesn’t always seem to be. Other than that, I can’t recommend this app enough. I wish they had these tours for more locations around the country!

Wonderful guided tour

This app is great! We did a tour of the Big Island. We didn’t go to all of the places because of time and rental car agreements as well as physical ability, but we saw plenty of amazing things. It recommended good spots to eat and shop, took us to cool towns and locations, explained the history of the spots. The navigation was very clear and there are A TON of spots on the tour… I would suggest going early though if you want some more fun. You can also go multiple times and get directions to a specific spot if you need to eat something or if you want to take a break. The Big Island had a lot of hiking spots, but there are still plenty of things that people with wheelchairs can do. You can see Rainbow Falls without a hike and there is a paved ramp. Not all of the spots are accessible though (some of the caves for example). It did show us a lot of cool spots that we wouldn’t have seen if we had just driven on our own. There was so much information and so much fun! And again, the tour doesn’t expire and you can find directions to specific spots, so if you need to stop and go again another day to check out other spots you can! Definitely worth the money!

Mahalo for your review and recommendation. Hope to see you and your family again on more Shaka Guide adventures on the Islands! 🤙😍🤙

Local Review - Got Have It

Both me and my husband born and raised in Hawaii and live on Oahu. We took our family to Kauai and headed to the Canyon. I love tours and have never really explored that side of the island. We had eight of us ages 60 to 11 in a mini van. Loaded Shaka and we were hooked - best family road trip ever. Information is accurate and stories are ones we hear growing up. The kids asked to go to every island featured and even use the one here for Oahu. Thank you Shaka for taking a trip from loud radio playing and fighting in the back seat to educational and entertaining. It created such great conversations between us and sparked memories of our own. Highly recommended and will keep watching for more!

We Love, love, love the Shaka Guide App

My Kids and I love hearing the interesting facts, information, and anecdotes of the Shaka Guide. I love the fact that the tour runs by GPS and can be downloaded offline. We used it for Maui at first and presently on Big Island Hawaii and it is Awesome resource for travel. We highly recommend having this app it is so useful and efficient. We really appreciate the highlights and restaurant recommendations. The turn by turn directions and markers make traveling so easy and pleasant. I’m looking forward to using this app for other future travel. Mahalo Nui Loa Shaka app 🫶🏾

The Utah guides are awesome and a great value!

We paid more for some of the books we aren’t using during our travels around Utah than we did for this “guided” tour of several of the parks here. It’s amazing. We love the way it works with gps to give us the right recording in the right place. My kids were rapt in attention to the stories and we all appreciated having a guide right there to tell us what we were looking at.

So far we have used Arches and Bryce and we look forward to trying out Zion as well. We were really bummed that we didn’t download Capitol Reef before we went through that area. Sad for us.

One request: while the music is surprisingly(!!) good, we would still prefer to play a podcast or listen to our choice of music during the in-between times. It would be great if we could pick a podcast or recording or channel or something.

A great way to see the island at our own pace

We used the Shaka app to do a self-drive tour of Oahu. It allowed us to go at our own place, stop at places of interest and see some amazing sites. A favourite was seeing turtles on the beach
