Finally great

Having gave up on the fuji app 2 years ago for being utterly useless, I can now say this is a vast improvement over what it once was. It works really well now, dare i say flawlessly?! Images take an age to download via the app vs sd card, but thatโ€™s probably a bluetooth data limitation rather than the app. 9.5/10!

Fujifilm - you got me again, you jerks

This app doesnโ€™t work, period. I am working with a new X-T50. One of the main reasons I upgraded from the X-T20 to the 50 was for this reason - to be able to use the new app and actually transfer photos to my phone. The prior garbage app never worked with the X-T20 either. So, I learned to live with connecting a cable to my MacBook and getting photos to my phone as an intermediary step.

After configuring the app, providing it with full permissions to always allow whatever it wants, connecting it to the camera via WiFi, I get to the point where the app sees the photos on my camera. After about 2 seconds, I then get โ€œThe wireless communication between the camera and the smartphone has stoppedโ€ฆโ€ The app then canโ€™t reconnect to the phone. On the camera side, itโ€™s just stuck in WiFi zombie mode flashing an orange/green light. The only way to get the camera back to functional is to pull the battery.

My phone is fully up to date. The app is whatever version is offered as of today. I have turned off my vpn on the phone. Iโ€™ve turned off data access through cellular. Iโ€™ve re-installed the app. Nothing seems to help the situation. I love the camera, but I feel like Iโ€™ve been ripped off. This is a major feature that in 2024 should be working flawlessly. Please fix yourself Fujifilm.

Poor, and frustrating app

I recently purchased my first Fujifilm camera, the X100VI. I immediately downloaded this app as a companion to that camera. I hoped it would transfer lower res copies of the photos I take with the X100VI while I shoot. It does not. The app disconnects from the camera randomly and often, and often asks to use cellular to continue receiving files. While transferring images to my phone, which only occasionally occurs automatically, I cannot continue shooting. I have a Nikon Z7II and use the Nikon SnapBridge app to effortlessly transfer 2mp images to my phone while I continue to shoot. The Nikon app/camera hardly ever disconnect from each other, and I can continue using the camera while it transfers those files. 2mp copies keep popping up in my photos app so I can quickly edit and share good shots. The XApp does not work nearly this well, smoothly or intuitively. Fujifilm really needs to revamp this app with better usability, ease of use, and reliability. I find this app poor and frustrating to use at best. To transfer images I often have to select images to transfer. I may want that, sometimes. Usually I just want it to transfer lower res files automatically while I continue to shoot. Fujifilm, please revamp this app to work reliably and allow transfer while shooting.

The all is draining battery when not in use. 23% of battery usage retaking the app with I never open. Software developers need to think about hie this work

Location issues

The app is an improvement over the previous one. I'll add more stars if the app can use the location data from hikes recorded from my Apple Watch instead of the app recording the location itself. I record all of my outdoor activity on my Watch and don't want to waste battery on my iPhone when I'm out in the wilderness.

Essentially, Iโ€™d like the option, once I get home, to add GPS data to my photos based on the timestamps of the photos approximate timestamps of the GPX data from the Health app.

still needs work

When I use the app with my X-S20 which I thought would be perfect for travel photography alongside the geotagging in the app, I was proven wrong. I can understand that you need to open the app before shooting for the geotags but I canโ€™t get over the fact that when I put my phone to sleep or sometimes when I switch apps to camera on the phoneX the connection stops updating the location. You canโ€™t simply just keep the phone on the app the entire time youโ€™re going around travelling. Please make it work better in the background.

X-H2

Spotty when it comes to firmware update. Worked fine until now. The error is the update is temporarily not available. Camera is busy. The camera is not busy. It is in shooting mode. Fuji has got to fix this persistent issue, it has been going on for years.

Didnโ€™t think this app could get worseโ€ฆ

โ€ฆ but it has. Look, it really isnโ€™t that complex - all I want to do is occasionally (And I do mean occasionally) get some images off my camera and into the iOs ecosystem, without going via my computer. Itโ€™s difficult to connect to a camera, itโ€™s hit and miss whether you can see the images on it once you have connected and it often falls over when transferring the images, if you are luck enough to get through the first two stages. Come on Fuji, this app really isnโ€™t getting the attention it deserves.

Where to start?

Should at least work with the range-topping, flagship, X-H2s, but since its 6.00 firmware, doesn't. Even removing the camera, or deleting the app, doesn't fix the connectivity. Says connected on camera, says failed in the app. App doesn't show camera, camera shows phone/ipad ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Secondly, landscape orientation on the iPad! Crikey, it's not hard to rotate the display โ€” and even Apple have now recognised *most* people use the iPad in landscape given the relocation of the camera to the long edge. Please, please, please, just go landscape orientation on the iPad when it's rotated. Lastly, where does one go for support? Now, I recognise asking for support on a free app is a bit of a cheek, but at least provide a contact place on the website where one can report errors, bugs, and submit improvements that will make the product better for everyone (landscape! iPad! C'mon!)
