With high intention
Eh?
Right off the bat, I was a little turned off that the subscription is quite high…I thought the point of being different from other apps was to have more accessible subscription rates. Also feels scammy that you have to subscribe before even having access to the app. Typically dating apps have a free version before asking users to purchase add-ons. During the interview process, the founder emphasized how different this app is but currently not seeing any significant differences in terms of cost…
The other major issue I noticed is that though I’m getting likes my likes are from the other side of the country or quite a distance from me. I’m sure the people liking me are lovely and I’m not trying to limit myself but, it would be appreciated if we could find people a little closer to us. During the interview, I expressed how that was an issue on apps like Dil Mil. I like the concept and like that people have been interviewed before gaining access, however, the app needs a lot of work.
I know a lot of work went into the launch of this app but there are some key missing features that need to added and some current one that need to be reconsidered.
Response from developer
Hi there! Thanks so much for the review. We definitely understand your concerns. We did put a lot of effort into this app and launch, but by no means is it in its final form. And we appreciate feedback from people like you to help make it better! On the distance, there are a couple reasons for that: the first being that the South Asian community is just not that large (and Dil Mil has the same issue) to where you can show enough people within a close vicinity. The second reason is that for the interviews we did, an overwhelming majority said that they actually don't mind distance and that if the person puts in the effort to build that connection, that's more important. Which also is a segue into why this is a paid app. We spend a lot of time vetting each person. We're not focused on quantity of people, but rather the quality of people. So for that reason, we're offering a premium service that goes beyond what other apps do. Additionally, when someone does pay for a dating app, it inherently makes them put more effort in to develop that connection. We hope you keep following us as we continue to improve the app. Our goal has always been to create something that the South Asian community so badly needs, and we're doing this for our community. Once again, thanks for trying us out and providing feedback :)
