Pop up messages when you are trying to transfer money

Disruptive app. I’m sorry but when you are trying to transfer money and get account numbers right your CONSTANT POP UP MESSAGES ARE STUPID AND FRUSTRATING. Whoever decided that was a good feature needs to be fired.
Horrible user experience. Along with the fact you need TWO APPS to do banking with cimb. Seriously.

Ridiculous Policies and Highly Unethical Notifications Practices

Absolutely stupid security policies (24 hour delays for changes without a way to bypass) and you get absolutely BLASTED with marketing notifications without the ability to turn it off. If you want to be notified about transactions (genuine security concerns), you also have to opt in to being blasted with marketing notifications that will ultimately make you ignore ALL notifications.

Something is not right ERROR

Keep getting SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT error message HTERAC00005.

This is happening for one week. Cannot view accounts and etc.

Sotong Failure

You can’t use a password manager to fill in the password. You can’t even paste your password that you copied from the said password manager! This has been the case even with the previous “sotong” app. I fail to fathom why they insisted on everyone typing in their (presumably) hard-to-remember password!

Update: Got a response from the developer as per below. I can’t believe what I’m seeing: CIMB’s point of view, all password helper apps including the one built into iOS should be disabled!

Hi, for security reasons, password auto fill or copy pasting a password is not allowed. Thank you for your understanding.

Can only activate on only one device.

It is quite ridiculous that the OCTO app can only be activated on one device only. If husband and wife share an account, the only one of them can access the account via the OCTO app

Hi there, in line with the enhanced security measures against scams as announced by Bank Negara Malaysia, starting end October 2022, CIMB will be initiating its migration exercise in phases to allow only single registered device.

Apps paling BODOH aku pernah install. Lepas register dia akan surun tunggu 12 jam untuk activate device. Bila korang nak bayar apa2 pakai FPX dia tak bleh nak approve sebab octo tak aktif lagi. Nonsense apps ever. Don't use!

Forced to set up again with debit card

This app used to be so accessible, just like the main cimbclicks app. Just login and password needed. Up until recently it forces you to re enter debit card info. A debit card which if expired you have to pay to renew at a branch and if you dont the entire Octo app is unusable. What a turn off.

Hi there, it is for verification purposes and to be able to login back to your CIMB Octo App account, you would need to complete all the process. For your info, there's no charge for debit card renewal upon expiry.
